Profile

Zoe found her way to RAGOM because her family was moving into an apartment, and they were unable to take her with. After getting Zoe in our home we can see it must have been hard to give her up. Zoe is still a puppy, being she was born in June of 2010. However, she is fully potty trained and still getting used to being crated during the day. She is very curious and a little leery of new things. However, her curiosity usually wins and she is overcoming her fears with her increased bravery.

Zoe is a Golden Retriever mix and weighs about 35 pounds. We just switched her food to one with less filler, she loves it and we think she may fill out more now.

Zoe already knows the “sit” command and we are working on “lay down,” which she is already catching on to. She is very smart and sweet and we think she would be easily trained. We don’t have any other pets, but have exposed her to other dogs and kids. She sniffs the air when around other dogs in her curiosity to find out more about them. Our crazy neighbor wiener dogs were saying “hi” to Zoe by barking at her and Zoe does not bark back…she just leans in tentatively to get into better sniffing range. We are hoping to have a play date with a friend’s dog soon. She was excited around the kids and new people, because she thinks she found new playmates. We are working with her to break her “puppy” habit of jumping when she is excited. Zoe used to live with two teenage girls, so we know she is used to having “siblings.”

Zoe has a history with being crated at night at her previous owners and will go in the crate with some coaxing and minor whining, but really doesn’t like being in there. She currently is only crated when we are not at home.

Zoe has been to the vet and is fully up to date and has a microchip implanted. We need to wait until Zoe is spayed to close an adoption, which is approximately the beginning of June. If you are interested in meeting Zoe she would love to meet you.
