Marley has been with us for a week now. He came to us from Iowa and he is a purebred Golden Retriever who is about 15 months old. He is neutered and up to date on his shots and is healthy. Marley knows his name and comes when you call him. Our female Golden mixed and our male Golden get along well with him. It is unknown how he gets along with cats or kids. He does need training as he knows few commands and he does jump up on everyone, although he is improving. He is very affectionate and loves attention.He does not guard his food or counter surf. When he is out in the fenced yard he prances around and loves chasing the ball. He is still so much a puppy.He is crate trained and has not had one accident in our house. When in the car he rides calmly. He is a really nice boy who needs some obedience training. As far as walks go, he loves them, but is still learning how to do it. It isn't that he pulls hard but is all over the place when he walks. We love him already.
He will make some family happy.

Our jolly, friendly, exuberant Alasdair went to the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, May 5, 2018. 

He was surrounded by his furever family (including his grandma and fur sister Berit aka Becky 10-206), being cuddled by his dad on his favorite red couch. Earlier in the day, Allie was visited by his longtime dog walker and some of his favorite neighbors. He knew he was loved dearly.

Alasdair gave us almost 8 years of sunshine and joy. In March of this year, he was diagnosed with axial osteosarcoma of the nasal passages and skull. He had a couple more good months before seizures and other neuro issues surfaced.

He is sorely missed and will always be remembered with great fondness.

Alasdair, almost 4, continues to be a sensitive and loving dog. He is always seeking prime real estate on the couch and bed. He loves everyone and just melts when we see someone when out walking – and he loves houseguests. Eating is a favorite hobby – Allie loves fruit and veggies, and likes to lick his sister’s ears after a cleaning with green apple-scented cleaner. Allie is also adept at watching TV. He notices any animals on TV and also anything odd or out of place. He recently growled at a suspicious Halloween mask that was new to our house. He continues to be a good brother to his younger sister, Berit, who often eggs him on to play or will walk right over him if he’s in her way. He is so sweet.

Marley 10-104, now Alasdair, has been with us almost a year already! Generally, he has made a very easy transition to his forever home. And, though sometimes a bit jealous, he has been a great big brother to his little sister from RAGOM, Berit (formerly Becky). Allie was instrumental in helping us get Berit outside during the winter and she has learned to follow his lead in general. They have invented some games that include stare downs, using beds as trampolines, and mouthing each other’s ears until wet. Allie has filled out and is often complimented on his looks – and, of course, his sunny demeanor. He is so loving.

We lost our beloved golden to cancer on April 2. We knew we wanted to work with RAGOM for our next dog and started the process fairly quickly. After a few understandable false starts, we found the perfect dog. His excellent fosters, Steve and Veronica, had given him so much love and stability that he made an easy transition to our house. Allie has slept outside his crate from night one and recently graduated to staying out of his crate while we are at work – without mishap. He does have a dedicated dog walker who visits midday on all workdays, so he gets a break and some affection then. Allie loves his daily routine, which starts with him sharing a banana with me every morning. He’s learning commands and will soon attend obedience with his dad, but we also enjoy his youthful exuberance. Everyone who meets Allie is charmed and he loves all dogs and all people. Our life feels complete again with him in our home, forever. And we may be looking for a RAGOM sibling for him soon.
