Andy 05-293

Profile

9/23/05: Andy arrived at our house yesterday and what a sweetie pie he is! He is an approximately 18 month old neutered male, up to date, healthy and weighs 62 pounds. He is also GEORGOUS – this is a picture the shelter took of him and really doesn’t do him justice. He is a darker red color, with the most perfect Golden face. It’s hard to believe this boy was a stray that no one claimed. He obviously lived with someone at one time because he is housebroken, knows sit, shake and stay, has excellent manners in the house and doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything. He’s also extremely responsive to anything we ask him to do. This is the type of dog who is capable of learning anything. He wants to always be near us and is usually leaning on us soaking up the love – typical Golden. I think when he fills out he will weigh around 70 lbs. He’s fine with our resident Golden and cat. He also walks pretty well on a leash with just a flat collar - he pulls a little. We did put the Gentle Leader on him last night for his walk and he was bucking and putting the brakes on for the first block and then he was perfect. Hi Jill,

Andy is doing great. We love having him around. Keigon just loves him. He's constantly hugging and petting and loving him. I think Andy gets more love from Keigon than he really wants. We've decided to go with the wireless fence, we just started working with him. I think Dean finally found an obediance class that he likes so we will be starting that after Christmas. He's met Clifford - unfortunately for Andy, Clifford is a big weenie and is scared of other dogs so he doesn't like to play. Andy got to go for a couple of swims in the creek by our house before it got cold. He loved it, of course we got to spend an hour picking the burrs out of his coat. My mom is in love with him. Everytime she comes to visit she threatens to steal him and take him home with her. I've attached a couple of pictures for you. Andy seems to like to sit in chairs. He's a nut sometimes.

Take care,

Heather
