Asher 17-241A

Profile

Meet Asher, the sweetest, softest, happiest Golden Retriever puppy I’ve ever met. He would be best described as a big marshmallow of love :) He came to RAGOM from a commercial breeder, so he is still learning how to potty outside and how to go down stairs, but he is very smart and catches on easily.

Asher has been adopted by a very loving family who delights in his puppy energy and silly antics! He's living with an active family that will keep him busy. He's a smart boy and learns quickly. He's also quite a character. Here he is on his new couch!

Asher was returned to RAGOM by his newly adoptive family because they felt he was too energetic for their quiet 9 year old resident dog. He came to us about 2 weeks ago. Asher originally came to RAGOM from a commercial breeder along with a few siblings.

Asher is about 7 months old, neutered, crate trained, house trained and very affectionate. He is soft as silk and white as snow - a real beauty and lover.

Given his age, Asher must be kept occupied or watched. A good tuckering-out also works to keep him out of mischief. We are working on counter surfing and his fondness for shoes. He is learning to "leave it" or "drop it" and responds well to the command. Asher is an AWESOME bundle of soft joy that just needs a bit of training and consistency. He'd be a great therapy dog.

Asher found his forever family! He is very excited to spend his first Christmas with a fur brother, three wonderful kids and two parents who will love him forever. We’ll miss his super soft fur and goofy smiles, but we couldn’t have asked for a better family. Happy Tails Asher!

Please welcome Asher to the RAGOM village. Asher is a 6 month old, cream/white colored purebred Golden Retriever. His fur looks a lot like an English Cream Golden Retriever with a little bit of curl in it. He is very handsome and extremely soft. I like to call him Marshmallow, not only because he’s so soft, but he is a big cuddler. He loves to be petted and adored and will sit really nicely to soak up all the attention.

Asher recently made a trip to the vet where he was brought up to date on shots and preventatives. He did test positive for hookworms and is being treated for those. He is a big boy at 55 pounds, but the vet thought he would possibly be a smaller adult Golden as he’s already starting to fill out. Asher has not been neutered yet but will be on 11/22. After that, he will be ready to be adopted.

Asher came from a commercial breeder but settled into our house and routine very easily. He is not startled by any noises, even the dreaded vacuum. He did not know how to go down stairs but is learning very quickly. I have two boys, ages 3 and 5, and he loves to play with them, but does have a tendency to jump when excited. He’s gotten much better about this but smaller kids could be knocked over. Asher is about 95% potty trained. He picked up on this really quickly and is starting to signal his need to go outside by standing at the door. I crate Asher at night and when we leave the house, and he willingly goes in and doesn’t make a peep.

He is a fabulous puppy and will make his adoptive family very happy, but it’s important to remember that he is still a puppy and a lot of work! He loves to chew shoes, rugs, kitchen chair rungs and any clothes he happens to find. He will need consistent training and socialization to make him the best puppy he can be.
