On my, here is our baby girl Bailey's final entry from her foster family. Bailey met the most wonderful adoptive family and fur brothers, and now Miss Bailey has a mom and a dad of her own!

It was a great day to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a forever home! Our girl has come so far from the auction board a few months ago – a long way from her breeding days in Texas. It takes wonderful, dedicated families like the H family, who invested the time, research, patience, and love these dogs need to flourish.

As with all my fosters, though the family met Bailey, ultimately she chose them. Our foster dogs can tell us a lot… the good and the not-so-good. Bailey gave them her beautiful brown-eyed look and wagged that happy rudder of a tail for them.

We will very much miss her, our young Bridger boy especially. Bailey has learned to run and play and have fun! What a big step. Bailey always put her feet and wet nose on me each morning to wake me up – I loved it.

Bruce and Laura are just the best folks and truly love their dogs. Bailey will have a mom home all the time - how great is that. She, once again, will have two brothers to hang out with, too: a big, gentle Golden boy and a darling Sheltie. She will also have a huge, safe, fenced backyard in a great neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac. Just the best ever.

One of the big components in fostering, as I have said for so many years, are the great families you meet and get to know! Laura and Bruce are outstanding folks and did the research for adopting a breeder girl. So proud of them.

Bailey girl, I love you and will miss you much. It just warms our hearts with the outstanding placements we are able to do for these wonderful Goldens. Yup, RAGOM rocks.

Happy Valentine's Day, baby girl!

Love,
Foster Mom & Dad

A little update on our beauty. As most everyone, we are pluggin’ away with this snowy and frigid January. It has been a long one. Snow, all the ice, and now temps so low you can’t go outside. But a nice time to curl up in front of fireplace and love up the dogs!

Bailey actually does not mind the real cold, but is smart enough to know when to come in! She and Bridger continue to entertain themselves for short times outside, which is a blessing. Hard to know what to do with the energy building up.

There was a RAGOM donations event held here in Sioux Falls, SD, at Shop Dog Boutique. Here's a photo of Bailey taken at the event, and there are more photos on Shop Dog's Facebook page.

The great Shop Dog staff held a photo booth inside the store for a donation of $10 or more for RAGOM! The turnout for dogs and their owners was great! What a variety of dogs we saw! We did take our girl and resident Bridger to this, and considering all the hubbub going on (many dogs and people), she really did well--we were so proud of her.

She did much better again going in and out of the truck to get to and from there, which was another great bonus, too.  Gosh, considering her poor past just a mere few months ago, she is doing outstandingly!

Time, patience, love, and a safe home do wonders. So rewarding to see this in progress. Thank goodness for RAGOM and everyone in it to rescue these wonderful Goldens. Proud to be part of this great group.

Please consider a donation or sponsoring some of these dogs; we really need your help.

To Shop Dog: Thanks so very much for your continued support!

I guess we have all survived the holidays. With our new move this year to a different home (Oct 2018), 5 birthdays, an addition of a new pup (Bridger), and all that goes with it--shopping, visiting, hauling, etc.--it has been quite a time.

Bailey did well, but 3 of the 4 pets we have, including her, had some upset tummies and diarrhea. We tried our best to keep as low-key as possible and minimize much of it for our pets as we could. Just a tougher time this year. Very understandable (it was for us, too!).

With that part over, Bailey has been her loving self and she is really have great action time outside running and playing with our Bridger Doodle. So pretty to watch and warms my heart to see a girl with her past be able to come out and have total fun!

Our walks have been short of late due to ice and very cold temps, as all of you are experiencing. But she enjoys them. Bailey has fun playing catch or fetch in the house with a nice stuffed toy. So proud of herself, and we are, too.

Bailey will be going to the groomer again soon for a nice bath and nail trim. Her coat is getting better, yet remains a little dry.

Besides the tummy issues, she remains very healthy and happy. She has such a face and understanding of what we are asking of her, and her needs as well. Such an affectionate Golden, just the best.

PLEASE CONSIDER SPONSORING OR DONATING! THANK YOU. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

Bailey is progressing so well. She does great with the foster pack. She loves to carry her babies around, and she and Bridger the Doodle have fun playing tag and stealing each other’s toys.

Bailey loves her foster pack.

She is perfect being left for 4 - 5 hours with free roam. No issues whatsoever. She is quiet all night and likes her big doggie bed.

She enjoys her walks when we get them, pending icy weather! Argh, that has been a challenge lately. She will put her feet up on her Foster Dad’s side of the bed to let him know it is potty time (and a wet kiss, too).

She enjoys checking out the back yard, sniffing and exploring. As thin as she is, she really likes the cool fresh air. She likes her non-rawhide chews and a nice peanut butter Kong.

It is so wonderful to see how these auction dogs grow each day and how much they enjoy and nice, warm home, human attention, and just total loving. We admire them so. They are very brave and strong—much better, I feel, than we could ever be.

Beautiful, brave Bailey.

Our baby girl is now spayed. We are thankful that is behind her. We didn’t feel so hot there for a few days, but we will move forward and keep healing.

Things are going well now, and a recheck is coming during the first part of next week. We will share the update.

Miss Bailey is such a doll, so gentle and so loves her human, soft toys (her babies), and any attention and love she can get. Now that she is healing, she is really perking up.

She just melts your heart. That face is amazing, and her very thin body will, in time, fill out. She has a snout which gets kissed a lot!

She wants to give you her paw so you are closer to her at times. She is quiet as far as being outside in the fenced yard, which Bailey sure enjoys. She likes checking out everything (note:  pick up her poo!).

She will be more playful with her toys, both balls and soft toys.  She is a beauty to watch and such a joy.

Bailey is a young girl at a little over 3 years old and has already been through so much in her young life. She originated from a breeding facility way down in Texas.

Along with another young female breeder dog, she was brought to Missouri for auction. (We have a saint who gets these wonderful dogs for us!)

From there, she came all the way to a wonderful temporary foster in northern Minnesota (thank you so much, Karen P!) and has now been a wonderful addition for us as her permanent fosters in Sioux Falls, SD.

It is just amazing what all she has been through in such a short period of time--the vehicles, people, other dogs. I find it so hard to even imagine.

Even after all that, she is the sweetest, most beautiful and loving little Golden girl ever. She is a Velcro dog who will be right by you and has adjusted wonderfully to our home (with another dog and a cat).

Bailey enjoys her walks and smelling all the new things in the world. She is just a petite little peanut who can use some weight on her, which will be easy.

She has met our grandchildren, whose ages range from 14 years down to 18 months. While cautious, she has done very well. However, due to her background, we are requiring any children in her forever home to be at least 10.

Our little girl will be spayed next week, and we will all be so glad to have that behind her.

Please consider a donation or sponsoring this beautiful girl!
