In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
10/29/15  Currently Required   12+ Confident resident dog required  OK with Cats!

From the wild woods of northern Minnesota to the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis, Miss Zoe has certainly had her life turned upside down.

12 month old Zoe became a RAGOM girl along with her friend Sage (15-276) on the night of October 29th.  Zoe and Sage had been living on their own for several months before a Good Samaritan stepped up to bring them into safety with the help of The Retrievers, a MN based non-profit organization that specializes in the humane capture of scared and skittish dogs.

Little is known about Zoe's past life but since she's been in foster care, we're learning a lot about this little cutie.  Zoe has been examined by the great staff at the Richfield VCA and although her 54# body was heavily matted, full of ticks, flea debris and ear mites, she is overall healthy.  Zoe did test positive for lymes and anaplasmosis and is being treated for both.  The good news is, she is heartworm free which is surprising news given the time she spent in the wild.

Zoe is settling into her foster home very nicely.  She is equally interested in us humans as she is the resident dogs.  After being in foster care for a few days, Zoe is anxiously and willing to approach the humans for for love, attention and treats.  Her favorite thing so far is to find a soft, cushy place to rest her cute furr-butt on, whether that be the couch, a dog bed or human bed - she is a princess in the making.

If you have a fence, a confident resident dog, no kiddos under 12, and the patience to allow Zoe to adjust to your family and home, contact your placement adviser to see if this sweet girl is the right addition to your family!

Zoe came to me 7 months ago having been brought in to RAGOM by the Retrievers with another dog, Sage. At first she was basically scared of everything. She has just grown and gained confidence in the time she's been with me. She has learned so much from resident dog, Willow, and will always need that other confident dog in her life.

Zoe has been adopted by the B family and will have that other needed dog in her new fur brother, Cooper, who is young enough to play with her and also a therapy dog. His personality suits her perfectly. She is also getting in her new family 2 college age sisters to pamper her as will the adults in the house. As much as I'll miss her, Zoe has gone to the perfect home where she will have a charmed life and abounding love.

Zoe continues to thrive and gain more confidence all the time. She is one sweetie who just wants to be loved and will give that love back.

Zoe loves to be outside, especially since the weather is nicer and she can run around and enjoy all the spring sounds and smells. I think she would be happy to chase those bunnies and squirrels, but she has been kept from doing that. And actually her prey drive seems to have diminished since she came into foster.

Zoe does have a couple of issues we have been working on. She still has an occasional peeing accident. She is very treat motivated, so when she potties outside, which is most of the time, she is rewarded. Speaking of treats. She also is working on taking treats nicely. This is a work in progress too. That kind of goes hand in hand with her food obsessiveness. I think this may be somewhat due to her being out and roaming with former RAGOM foster, Sage, before they were rescued by the Retrievers. She was very young at the time and it's hard to know how much of that learned behavior she will always have. She eats very fast and then goes to my resident dog's dish to see if she might share. No fighting or anything, she just wants any food that might be available.

This is Zoe, a true love but lacking in trust. She still startles easily and is wary of new people and noises. But she has made so much progress and will continue to do so. Her greatest need in her new family has to be to have another confident dog in the home, preferably one who will play with her. She loves to play. A fenced yard would also be great but not a must.

Zoe will be very happy to find her forever home and begin her new life.

Merry Christmas from Sheila Reynolds! Merry Christmas from Sheila Reynolds!

Monday, November 23, 2015

Zoe has been settling in to her new life as a RAGOM dog. Initially she was pretty frightened and fearful of most everything and everyone. She now displays a wonderful personality of the young pup that she is.

Zoe was spayed a couple of weeks ago and after 2 weeks of lying low she is on the go. She has healed nicely and her incision looks great. Her ears are also looking so much better and just need an occasional cleaning. She loves her food and takes treats nicely although she won't eat unless I leave the room.

Zoe had tried to get RD Willow to play with her but Willow is not a playing dog. Willow does exhibit lots of confidence and Zoe looks to her all the time if there is a question of what to do or not. She definitely does need that confident dog in her forever home. One who would play with her would even be a bonus.

Now that she can be active, we have started walking on a leash. She is a work in progress as far as that goes but it is getting better all the time. She does much better if Willow is walking with and pretty much gravitates to her side.

Miss Zoe has just come so far in such a short time. She has definitely found that humans are good and a warm place to lay her head are comforts she enjoys. She still hesitates some around new people, but with proper introductions, she does well. We have not been around kids yet so that is something we need to check out.

Zoe will be making her Meet and Greet debut on December 5th at Chuck and Don's in Edina. Come out and meet this sweetie.

If you have a fenced yard, another confident dog, and would like to welcome Zoe into your home, contact your placement advisor.
