Hank, now known as Brinkley, has been adopted! He has two boys to keep entertained and a family that will love him forever! Congratulations to Brinkley and his new family! Our home is so quiet without him, but we had so much fun fostering him! We love you, sweet boy!

We have learned a lot about little Hank since his last update and we just love having this little boy around! Hank is doing great with his potty training and can go about 4-4.5 hours crated during the day without an accident. We still have to take him out very often while he's playing and out of the crate, but we have a lot less accidents now than just a few weeks ago. Hank crates very well and we only hear whining or barking when he needs to go potty. He is still waking up for a potty break in the middle of the night, but it's not every night, so it's getting better. I would rather have him wake me up than have an accident! We have also picked up his food after 6 pm and make sure he doesn't drink a whole bowl of water right before bed to see if that will help. Hank is also doing great with his training! He learned how to "sit" in a matter of a few hours, and we are working on "down" as well as teaching him how to walk on a leash. He comes most of the time when we call him, especially if a treat is involved! Remember, puppies need consistent training to become a wonderful adult dog! We think that Hank's forever family should absolutely take him to obedience training. Hank has a lot of energy and has a strong personality, and he likes to PLAY a lot! He can easily wear out my 3 year old Golden and our 18 month old foster Golden, Buddy 14-219. Due to this, we think a forever home with a young, playful dog, or no dog at all would be best. He would simply annoy an older dog who doesn't want to play 20 hours a day like he does. Hank does like to use his sharp puppy teeth on everything. Other pets, people, toys, furniture, gardens, grass, etc... nothing is safe! He is always biting, chewing, humping, playing tug with tails, barking at, etc with the other dogs, but luckily they are very tolerant of his puppy antics! He requires near constant supervision when he's out of his kennel in order to keep him safe, as all puppies do. You'll notice most of his new pictures are of him resting/sleeping... he just moves too fast to get pictures when he's playing! Don't let it fool you that he's a calm and quiet puppy! He's still a fun puppy and we really enjoy all of his still antics and behaviors!
He's earned a few more nicknames here, in addition to the ones he already has. "Little Land Shark" is still his primary nickname, but he also gained the name "Mater" after sneaking into the garden and eating a few of our ripe tomatoes! The evidence was all over his face! He's too cute to get mad at, but we did reinforce the short garden fence to keep him out! Hank got to visit his sister, Tess, this past weekend while his foster family went to MN to attend Goldzilla. Hank was too young to go, but luckily Tess' foster stepped up to watch our wild boy! They had a great time playing with each other and getting into trouble. Hank rode well in the car to and from his sitter. He loves to go for rides and usually settles in for a nap.
While he is a wild man and is a lot of work, Hank also gives the best puppy kisses and snuggles! He is a sweet puppy and will make some lucky family very happy! If you think you are up for all the work that a very high energy puppy entails, please contact your placement advisor!
