Buddy 08-265

It's Buddy here! I wanted to send this out last weekend so everybody can see how handsome I am, but it was a very busy weekend (FM is off doing laundry, so I snuck in here to get this sent out). We had company and there were even little two legged ones here. I heard my FD (foster dad) call them grandkids. One said he was 3 and the other one said he was 7. I got along really well with them and had a good time. I also like my two fur brothers and two fur sisters. Also FM (foster mom) has some little little four legged kids here, but I just ignore them. I heard someone call them cats. FM says that I am just the most lovable thing. I LOVE to be loved on and LOVE all of the attention that I am getting, but when I get in FM's face, how can she resist giving me attention? I follow FM everywhere. I need to make sure that she has scritches and scratches for me, ya know. I am just the bestest boy. I LOVE to play with woobies (dog toys) and when FM is gone and comes home, I have to go find one for her. FD had me outside and was playing ball with me (I LOVE to play ball) and he would have me sit and tell me to stay. Then he would throw the ball and I would sit there until he said that I could go get the ball. Then I would go get it, bring it back to him, and drop it at his feet, so he could throw it for me again. FM had to find out for herself to see if I would really stay when she told me to while she threw the ball and I did. I did not go after it until she told me that I could. I am a good boy.

Besides sit and stay, I also know my name and will come when my name is called. I do not know down, but we are working on that. I can be outside in the front yard without a leash. But because it is new to me at FM's, I get excited and go and check things out, but I come when I am called. I am a Golden/Yellow Lab mix and can you get any better than that? My FM says that I am the best of two worlds. I don't know how much I weigh, but will find out on June 9th. I think that I am a lap dog though and try to get into FM's lap all the time. I get more scritches and scratches that way, when I try and get into FM's lap. I hear FM talking to one of my foster sisters, so I don't have much time here. I don't know what else to tell you right now except that I am the bestest pupper and would make a very good companion. I will be your best friend. Please take a look at me. Aren't I the handsomest? I will write more later when I can sneak in here without FM knowing it.

It's with great sadness that we had to let our beloved dog Buddy go. Many of you may have seen him limping around the yard for the last several months. We had been treating him for arthritis in his elbow. We found out the other day that there was a tumor located under his shoulder muscle that was most likely the cause of the pain.

Buddy was my loyal gentle companion. He loved us unconditionally and was always there with a tail wag when we needed it most. He was my co-worker who helped get me through my work day. He was a wonderful pet for my children but I know all the neighborhood children loved him like their own. I know Buddy is at the Rainbow Bridge right now laying in the sunshine waiting for us.

We love you Buddy boy. Thank you to Ragom for bringing him into our lives.

Buddy was adopted by a wonderful family yesterday and I talked to them today and Buddy is doing wonderfully. They have two kids to keep him busy and out of trouble. Here is a picture of Buddy with his new family.
