In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
May 26, 2014  physical not tested  optional  not tested
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Buddy is a beautiful blond male who was born June 15, 2008 so he will be celebrating his 6th birthday very soon.  He found his way to a shelter in Northern Iowa who then called RAGOM to help him find a new family.

Buddy is neutered, micro-chipped, and now completely up to date with his vaccinations.  He was heart worm negative but did not donate a fecal sample for his visit today so we have that to recheck since he was given worming medicine at the shelter.  Today he began his heart worm and flea and tick preventative.  He weighed in at 59 lbs. which the vet believes is his ideal weight.  As soon as I get all his undercoat combed and stripped out we will be doing a bath.  He has plenty of fur and only likes me doing this for short periods so it will take some time.  Buddy does not like anyone messing with his behind and required vet tech. assist to trim his nails.  I consider this minor compared to what a great companion he will make some family.

What do I know about this fine boy.  I picked him up at the shelter last week and he rode 2 1/2 hours in complete silence and quickly finds a comfortable spot to lay down.  He is very mellow and enjoys jumping on the sofa, chair, and bed though the chair has become his best spot so far.  He sleeps well on the floor of a gated bedroom (mine) as does the rest of the pack.  He is eating Taste of The Wild dry and I have been adding some fish oil and probiotic as his fur has a very dull appearance and his stools initially very soft.  He has discovered the many balls that grace the yard and so far plays well if someone else get to it first.  While mowing the yard he will bring a ball for you to throw but happily stay out of your way.

Since Buddy does not need altered and is up to date with everything he can start seeing approved applicants anytime.  Let your placement advisor know if you are interested in this fine boy.

Updates

Saturday, June 28, 2014

Here's an update on Buddy (14-151).  We've had Buddy since Saturday, and he is fitting into our home extremely well.  He loves to run and play with our younger dog Shelby, and he is very respectful of our older dog Bailey.  He is very gentle with our 19 month old son, and he pretty much ignores the cat.  He's walking well on a leash (with a Gentle Leader). We just love him and we're so happy to have him in our home.
