Carlie is doing just fantastic! She is minding really well, comes when called, and looks to me for direction. She’s mellowed out as she’s matured and has wonderful calm quiet energy. She is my little helper and keeps me company when I am doing a project or yard work. The nice thing about her is she doesn’t need constant interaction and is content to go sit on a cushion and hang out.
She’s a sweetheart and getting to be such a big girl. It’s been weeks since there has been a potty accident in the house (although I still keep a pretty close eye on the pups). She loves, loves, loves going for walks, especially if she can smell and explore a little. When we come back into the house, she settles right down and chills out. All the dogs seek her out to play—and she can even get the edgy little Terrier I am watching to engage with chase and bitey face. She is subordinate and gets into the other dog’s space so gently. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her ruffle anyone’s feathers—she reads their signals really well. She is most definitely into her people too, and wants to be close. She is my favorite little snuggle partner when I am watching TV. She is so easy.
Here are a few pictures of her—my favorite things about her are her eyes and her wonderful snout. :-)
Carlie is growing like crazy and is now a long and lanky pup. She’s so athletic, and I think she’ll always need regular exercise and physical outlets to be in her element. We’ve been walking a couple of times a day, and she is getting the hang of walking on a leash, although she sure does like to pull when she gets excited! This morning we walked at a nature reserve and I let her off leash for a couple of minutes. She was hilarious to watch--doing zoomies and then hiding in the high grass on the side of the trail, then jumping out when the other dogs went by, trying to get them to chase her.
We’ve been doing lots of fun stuff, meeting people, going to new places, and she LOVES it! She feels so much more confident and is really coming out of her shell. She’s getting to be a big girl too—with potty training, sleeping though the night, being a good listener and coming when I call. She continues to be so snuggly and affectionate. She is a cuddle-bug when we watch TV, and some part of her is always touching me or leaning against me. She is so content when she is hanging with her people.
Carlie is a cutie-patootie waiting for a home of her very own. She is now 10-weeks-old, and she is doing a fantastic job learning puppy things like “sit” for a treat, off-leash recall, and of course potty training! She is content to chew on a bone, or to just hang out and snuggle while we watch TV. She loves playing too though, and is often the one to instigate a wrestling match! She is looking for a family who will expose her to lots of people, places, and other dogs to build her confidence. She is the sweetest girl ever, and ready for her very own family!
I love my duck!

See how ferocious I am?
I love toys, and dog beds!
Carlie has been at her permanent foster home for two weeks now, and I appreciate her more every day she is such a honey! She is lovey and affectionate, yet she can be a spitfire. One of her siblings went home this past weekend so now it is just her and her two sisters. The other two seem to take turns wrestling with her. If she’s has enough though she isn’t shy about letting them know!
She had her spay appointment this week so is recovering from that. She tried to lick her incision so had to wear a onesie to keep her from getting at it. Other than that she is healthy as can be. Carlie is a little love-bug and she has so much potential. It will be really fun to watch her get more confident. One thing is for sure—she is a snuggler extraordinaire!
She is all set to go to her new home!
