We are writing to let you know that, after nine wonderful years, Maggie (formerly Chelsea 05-023) crossed Rainbow Bridge last night. As she was adopted as an adult dog, we believe she was nearly 12 years old.
We loved Maggie with all our hearts and we like to think she had a wonderful life with us. Our lives were certainly more wonderful because she was here. She was healthy up until nearly the very end. She was diagnosed with inoperable cancer a little over two weeks ago. A steroid seemed to keep her pain-free and with a good quality of life for a few weeks, and then last night she quickly declined and we believe that she told us it was time to let her go. The vet came to our house and it was over quickly and, it seemed, peacefully. The attached picture was taken just a week before she passed. As you can see, she was a pretty, pretty girl. We are extremely grateful and honored that we were chosen to be Maggie’s forever family. She will forever be in our hearts. Thank you to RAGOM for rescuing our girl and putting us together.
