Chelsea 05-023

Profile

My son and I just picked Chelsea up from the Animal Shelter. She did great on the ride back to our house and blended in just fine with our canine crew. Chelsea is a very sweet, soft furred, ginger-snap colored Golden. See photos below...all taken within 1/2 hour of her being here!

She needs a Rabies shot and the Animal Shelter believed she had not yet been spayed....her other shots were given when she was wormed and she was tested for heartworm - negative.

More later -- after we get to know each other better.

We are writing to let you know that, after nine wonderful years, Maggie (formerly Chelsea 05-023) crossed Rainbow Bridge last night. As she was adopted as an adult dog, we believe she was nearly 12 years old.

We loved Maggie with all our hearts and we like to think she had a wonderful life with us. Our lives were certainly more wonderful because she was here.

She was healthy up until nearly the very end.

She was diagnosed with inoperable cancer a little over two weeks ago. A steroid seemed to keep her pain-free and with a good quality of life for a few weeks, and then last night she quickly declined and we believe that she told us it was time to let her go. The vet came to our house and it was over quickly and, it seemed, peacefully.

The attached picture was taken just a week before she passed. As you can see, she was a pretty, pretty girl.

We are extremely grateful and honored that we were chosen to be Maggie’s forever family.

She will forever be in our hearts.

Thank you to RAGOM for rescuing our girl and putting us together.

Just wanted to send an update on Maggie, formerly known as Chelsea.

Maggie's a happy, healthy girl, and is enjoying the Spring. Thanks so much for bringing us together. We couldn't be happier.

Warmest regards,

Hi, my name is Chelsea. I'm looking for a forever home. I'm around 2 years old. I can't remember my exact birthday, but I still act like a puppy sometimes so the humans around me tell me I must not be very old. My fur is a mixture of rust and gold, and my eyes are very gold.

There are 2 cats at my foster home. I don't really like the black fluffy one. He tried to swat me the other day so I chased him into the bathroom. The other one is a gray kitten. I sometimes think she might be fun to play with, but my foster brother, the Collie, keeps telling on me when I try to get close to her.

There are three other dogs here. I didn't like Mac, the collie, at first. Now he is my best friend. We like to race to the fence at the very back of the yard. Mac barks a lot, I hardly bark at all. There is also a girl dog about my age. Her name is Callie. I don't like it when she has all of my foster mom’s attention, but I am working on learning how to share. The third dog is Buddy. He was a RAGOM dog too. I like Buddy!

Foster mom has taken me to the vet. I have all the shots I need and she scheduled me for an operation at the end of the month. The doctor is going to spay me then. I'm not sure what that means and I can't remember if I've already had it done. Foster mom says it will be a pretty quick operation if it’s already been done.

I hope I can find a family who will keep training me. I like to get treats and I like to please. I'm getting really good at “sit” and “come”. I need to work on “stay” and other things. I would really like a person who will cuddle me, and pet me, and massage my feet, and rub my belly. I really like to have my belly rubbed. Most of all, I want someone who will love me and someone I can love. Foster mom says I would make the best best-friend for someone out there.

Oh, yeah, I also like to go for rides in the car and I love to go to the dog park! If you're looking for a puppy who will love you completely, please let RAGOM know.

Love,

Chelsea
