Copper is camera shy...so his photos don't do him justice. He is actually a gorgeous guy! He came here on Wednesday evening...he had already fallen in love with the transport person and wanted to follow her when she drove away. Yesterday, he was home while I worked. I crated him but made arrangements for someone to let him out halfway through the day. Today when I left for awhile, I babygated him in the kitchen...that worked well, so the crate is now being stored again. He's a very nice dog, however, one of mine isn't as nice, so for Copper's safety I will keep him separated when there is nobody home. So far, my nasty dog has decided to leave Copper alone, it's just no fun to antagonize someone who just lays down and hides his head.
Copper is bigger than either of my dogs, my bigger guy weighs in the low 70's...I'll know Copper's weight next week when we go to the vet. He is medium to dark red...with the most expressive face. He is adjusting quite nicely to his temporary home. I don't think he'll be here long. He doesn't need to live with another dog, while big, he doesn't jump so I think he could live with kids, he doesn't seem like he would mow them down. He is gentle and I think would be good for anything you'd like to do with him...obedience, agility, therapy dog stuff...he is a little shy but I think that as he bonds with his new owners he will do just fine at anything. He has not tried to get on the furniture or any beds...although he does like to sleep by the side of the bed in the bedroom. So far, he's gone with the flow around here and has fit right in.
