Copper (Phil 04-398)

Profile

Phil is a very handsome one year old with a lot of coat and a big boy head. He is very sweet, lovable and has energy but not hyper. He is on the smaller size but a broader hunky kinda guy. He had some skin problems and his coat is still growing out from that. So the poor guy has some large bald spots on his back with hair coming back in patches. The skin looks healthy and tomorrow he goes in for neutering and a good physical. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been on heartworm preventive for the season.

Phil is used to being able to run free when his owners were home and was confined to the garage when they were gone. So this boy is going to need a fence because he has had a lot of fun being able to do whatever he wants. And luckily didn't get hurt or killed doing it.

The previous owners said Phil was good with the neighbors' kids, although he does like to jump.

Phil came in with his brother Ween 04-399, but they would do much better separated. Both being unneutered they do a lot of posturing with each other, although they also play well together. Those hormones just get in the way! There is alot of competition for attention also. They seem very happy to meet other dogs but they haven't met a cat yet. Just very happy-go-lucky kids!

More to come after the trip to the vet!

Jesse and Copper (Phil) died this year. Copper was lost to cancer in February, and Jesse had, we believe, a stroke in July. We miss them.

All I have to say about Phil are great things! He is so sweet, gentle and loving. Good news on his skin condition, the Vets think it was a trauma that wasn't treated and it got terribly infected. The hair is growing back very nicely and he should be as good as new. The rest of his coat is just beautiful!

This guy loves everyone and everything. He loves to play with tennis balls and stuffed animals and tries to stick as many in his mouth as possible! He is not pushy, but loves to be loved! Just soaks it all up and has an unbelievable cute face!

A wonderful woman donated 4 coats to RAGOM for the dogs with skin problems, and Phil received one of them. He looks quite stunning in it. He really appreciated it when the weather was so cold! When the boys play in the back yard, he can't wear it though, it becomes a toy at that point! But he loves it for walks and outside time. THANK-YOU!

We were hoping a very special family was going to be able to adopt him, but the timing doesn't seem to be working out for them for personal reasons. So he is back, and ready to be adopted by another very special family. He is so wonderful and such a joy to have around, we have been in no hurry to place Phil. Just part of the family!!! He gets along great with all the other dogs and cats. The more toys around the better!! If you are looking for a wonderful guy, here he is!!!!

Did I mention that Phil is built for speed?
