Welcome Cotton Top!!!! A beautiful 6-year-old puppy mill mom from Oklahoma. She is beautiful on the inside and out! With each day, she is becoming more playful and inquisitive. She has a lovely spirit and gets along beautifully with our senior resident dogs, one male and one female. She does show a little dominant behavior over the female, but nothing of concern. She walks nicely on a leash. She was spayed on May 26th and she is healing beautifully. Cotton Top has her follow-up appointment next weekend and will be available after that. |
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog. |

Welcome Cotton Top!!!
Cotton Top is a six-year-old cream purebred Golden Retriever that was rescued recently by RAGOM in Oklahoma at an auction. She was a puppy mill mom for her first six years. Now she is being introduced to the life that she deserves!
She is beautiful on the inside and out! With each passing day, she becomes more playful and inquisitive and not as skittish. She walks nicely on a leash and gets along well with our two senior resident RAGOM dogs, especially our male Golden. She loves both men and women and has not been kid- or cat-tested yet. Cotton Top will need a fenced-in yard and a confident, loving resident dog to show her the ropes.
She loves laying in the grass in the backyard and discovering trees, squirrels, bunnies, the sky, and just about everything else. She has a good appetite and takes treats gently.
Cotton Top was spayed on May 26th and is healing nicely. She will go back to the vet for a post-op visit on June 10, after which she will be available for adoption. She is up to date on shots as well as heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. She will also get a stool recheck next week as she was treated for hookworm. Her hair has worn thin on her left and right sides and the vet thinks it could be due to stress or laying in a kennel for so long. If it does not grow back in the next month or so, we will recheck it, but right now, her thyroid tests showed she is a healthy girl.
She loves to cuddle at night on our bed or sleep on her own dog bed. So far, she has not shown any storm anxiety.
Please consider taking this sweet, kind, and gentle girl into your home. She would be a great companion and has so many years left to live the life she should have all along.
