Daisy 13-240

A sweet, sweet flower arrived and she is a Daisy. Daisy is a PB 8-year-old Golden Retriever. She has only been with us a couple of days, but wanted everyone to see what a dolly she is. She has red curly hair, fairly short and evidently enjoys her meals, but what she loves the VERY MOST is her ball. If you need a playmate, Daisy is the girl for you!

Daisy met our resident dogs with absolutely no issues, has been affectionate with everyone including other dogs that she has met. She will be getting her wellness check in a couple of days and as of right now I see no issues.

Daisy was surrendered with her brother due to a change in family circumstances and being left alone for 10 hours a day. The surrendering family have loved Daisy very much and you can tell because of her gentle ways. I guess she has some storm anxiety, but will have to wait for that and see if it ever rains again.

Once Daisy has her vet check and we get to know her better, we will let you know more about this amazing girl!

We helped our sweet little Daisy girl (13-240) over the Rainbow Bridge on October 12th. She was 13 1/2 years old. She fell going down just two steps off our deck and broke her leg. The X-rays showed bone cancer.

They say Goldens are stoic about their pain which was true with Daisy. Other than mobility issues you would expect from a senior Golden, we had no idea she had bone cancer. It was a very difficult decision, but we knew it was the right one as she will no longer be in pain.

We adopted Daisy and her brother Buddy (13-239) in September of 2013. It took her about a week to adjust to our house and surroundings, but she soon discovered all the great places to explore in the park adjoining our house.

She especially loved looking for stray tennis balls near the park’s tennis court. I think she thought the park was hers and would give out a few barks to let other dogs, who dared to enter the park, know who’s boss.

We will deeply miss her cute sugar face, her tenacity and her loving manner. Thank you RAGOM for letting us adopt this sweet flower. Daisy, you will be forever in our hearts.

Hi, Miss Daisy here, at least that’s what my Foster Dad calls me. Even though I miss my brother Buddy, I really like it here. They let me sleep wherever I want and when Foster Mom and Dad go away for awhile, I just hang in the house with the other Goldens living here. Resident dog Jackson is so good to me; we play, lay by each other and sometimes we even kiss (don’t tell)! Sandy who is 8 like me can sometimes be a “mean girl,” so I just ignore her. I feel so good, FM gave me a bath, brushes me every day and gave me a haircut. I do look quite lovely if I do say so. I am a natural redhead, you know. OOOOh, sorry, somebody just bounced my tennis ball---gotta go.

Miss Daisy & her ball

Yes, the tennis ball and fetch are the love of Daisy’s life. But there are some no’s about Daisy. NO’S: no digging, chewing, inappropriate barking or de-stuffing the toys. No leaving the yard, no pulling on the leash or resource guarding of anything and best of all, no pottying in the house EVER.

No, she is not perfect but closer than most of us. But honestly, in such a short time, we have fallen in love with this sweet, happy, easy-going girl and I think she thinks we are A-OK too.

If you like kisses, a snuggle-bunny, someone to play ball with and go for walks (not miles, she isn’t used to that at this point)---Miss Daisy could be the girl for you!
