Stormy is a adorable Golden puppy at a critical age of social and behavioral development. It is imperative she be introduced to other humans and dogs or cats to learn what is socially or behaviorally expected of her as she matures in your home. Obedience training is just one element in this environment to help guide socially acceptable behavior. This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

06/05/2017:

Stormy is a 10-week-old female surrendered to RAGOM for adoption. She is a stunner, but I say that about all our Goldens. Stormy had her wellness checkup and was given her age-appropriate vaccinations. Her stool check was negative for any parasites, and while we were there, we had her microchip implanted. Stormy had a hernia repair at 8 weeks, so we also removed her sutures. Because it still has a little bulge, I will have them check it out when she is spayed.

Stormy is a typical puppy who has many milestones to accomplish. She is sleeping through the night (not always dry - does not call out for potty break), eating dry kibble (Fromms Salmon/Tuna), and playing with or trying to play with the big dogs. She loves running about the yard and is getting quite proficient at the command "go potty" when we first go out. We are going out about every 2-4 hours for potty breaks.

Puppies are a lot of work, and much like a newborn, they require observation and guidance as they explore and grow. You must have a plan to make sure they get their potty breaks throughout the day every 2 to 4 hours. Puppies chew, and power cords are especially dangerous as their little bodies fit behind sofas, chairs, and under furniture. Puppies eat three times a day just like humans, so lunch is very important to their growing bodies. And then there is obedience training, a fun and necessary tool for both of you to learn how to communicate in positive ways.

If you have already filled out an "Inquiry for Application" form, please send an email to applicationatragom [dot] org with Stormy's name, her RAGOM number, the name you submitted the Inquiry for Application form under, and a sentence or two why you feel you'd be a good match.
