Halle is a beautiful English Creme Golden Retriever. She was dearly loved but was surrendered to RAGOM when her family moved and was not able to take Halle with them. She adores our children and is very gentle around them. She also loves our cat. Like many Goldens, she loves food and playing B-A-L-L, too. She is pure awesomeness!

It's Halle here sending lots of hugs and kisses to everyone who helped me find my furever home! I included the last selfie me and my foster mommy took.

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, it was official—I was adopted by Jeff & Brenda L and will be living the Golden life. My new parents live by a lake in the cities and have a lake cabin—WOO HOO! Plus I get to play with lots of grand kids.

Hello, the marvelous Halle here to brighten your day!

My most recent venture outside of the house was to see Dr. Rasmussen on August 22. She took a good look at my knees and said,"Yay, no surgery needed for me!" She did give some recommendations on how to keep my knees healthy:

  • Healthy weight is a must! I will need my calories controlled and to be given fewer cookies, so no free feeding or unlimited treats for me.
  • Supplements will need to be included in my daily routine; it will help my knees and joints so much.
  • Exercise is a must! But I am not a marathon runner, more of a speed walker.
  • Pain meds or surgery on my knees might be needed in my future, but not at this time.

I love these new toys my foster mommy got me! Did you know they make squeaky B-A-L-L-S?! I didn't, but I love, love, love them and must squeak them all the time!

Halle has been in her current foster home since June, and in one word she is perfection! Our family hit the fostering jackpot: she is sweet, cuddly, and very tolerant of our little ones. She knows to settle down and be calm around our littlest one and will sit very patiently for him to throw a ball.

Halle loves our 15-year-old orange tabby cat Fargo (more than he would like sometimes). Halle reacts to dogs when we are out walking or even when they walk by the house. We have not tested her with another dog in our house, but she might prefer to be an only dog.

She has been to a RAGOM-approved vet twice, and of course everyone loved her. Her first visit was a wellness check-up, where they found she needed a dental for removal of two bad teeth. The vet also recommended radiographs of her hips and knees for some intermittent limping and soreness.

She was found to be very healthy. On August 8, she had her dental cleaning with two extractions and the hip/knee radiographs. We're still waiting to hear back about recommendations. She is recovering nicely from the dental work and is a dream to give her oral antibiotic and pain meds to.

When thinking about what Halle needs in her forever home, we have learned these things about her:

  • Halle loves, loves, loves her food, your food, any and everyone's food basically. She will counter surf, table surf, child surf if given the chance, but listens well when told NO!
  • Her love of food is almost trumped for her need of playing B-A-L-L!
  • Stuffies run a close second, which she does need supervision with, since getting the squeaker before she swallows it is necessary.
  • She walks like a dream with a gentle leader and loves rolling in the backyard grass. But if a bunny is close by her good manners are harder to maintain and to remember, so a fenced yard would be ideal but not necessary.
  • She loves children and feline friends, so she would love to have both in her forever home, but again, not required.
