Cisco has been with us for a couple weeks now. He is about 11 weeks old and is a golden mix. We aren't sure what he's mixed with at this point, but blue heeler and collie were mentioned by folks that have met him. In the time he's been with us he has been fully vetted (except needing a rabies shot, yet). His neuter appointment was last weekend and that went great.  He'll go in next week when he's 12 weeks old for his rabies vaccine.

Cisco is full of energy! He plays constantly, which is why we think it would be great if he could go to a family with another dog. He loves playing with our resident dog and all other dogs he meets. He does play pretty rough, though, so I'd suggest the other dog in the house be fairly tolerant to puppy behavior. We've been working really hard on potty training and I think he's getting there. He's had no accidents in the past two days, which is amazing progress from where we were. We've also been working on crate training Cisco so he is comfortable in there for a few hours during the day. This still needs quite a bit of work.

One thing Cisco really loves is toys! This little boy will pile up toys and play with all of them around him at the same time. He also loves belly rubs!

I'm hopeful that Cisco can find a family to love him as much as we do! He is full of love, cute as can be, and is on his way to learning to be a great pup.

Cisco has been with us about 6 weeks now. It's been awhile since I've posted, but that's mainly because we've been too busy falling in love with him. He is an amazing puppy who is smart as can be. Cisco is fully vetted, has excellent recall, and is doing much better on potty training. He has very few accidents now. They mostly happen when he's in a strange place and forgets the protocol or if we aren't watching for his signals. Cisco currently weighs about 30 pounds and the vet is guessing he'll be around 60 lbs fully grown.

Cisco loves to play with our resident dog, Rosco, so I really do think it would be best if he went to a family with another dog. He needs a lot of socialization to keep him busy and happy. Once he's done socializing he is a big ball of goo. He's a total snuggler. My husband will be mad for posting the sleeping picture, but it really shows how much Cisco loves to cuddle and loves human interaction. Cisco also LOVES toys. He is a little bit of a toy hog, as in he doesn't always want Rosco to have a toy. Cisco would prefer he have all the toys laying around him so he's able to play with a different one at a moments notice. Rosco doesn't mind sharing, so Cisco normally gets his way.

We're working on the "sit" command and "down" commands with Cisco right now and he is doing phenomenal. He's a quick learner.

Cisco is still really freaked out by kennels, but we are still working on this and do put him in there for parts of the day. He likes sleeping in the room with us and we like it too so he isn't upset in his kennel. He normally chooses to sleep on the floor next to my side of the bed. He doesn't have any accidents at night anymore, so we can make it through the whole night without potty breaks.

Cisco is also excellent at traveling in the car. We had some long trips (5-6 hours+) over the holidays and he just zonks out. On those holiday trips, Cisco was exposed to small children (2 years old) and he did fabulous!

To be honest, if my husband and I weren't moving and committing to longer commute times and less time at home, I wouldn't be writing this. I'd be keeping Cisco. He's is an amazing dog that will be a wonderful companion to some family. I'm extremely jealous of whichever family gets the privilege of adopting him.
