My first thought when Fred arrived at our home on Saturday was, “He is going to be the perfect dog for one lucky family!” This gorgeous boy is eager to please, affectionate, and fun-loving. He loves absolutely everyone, greeting anyone who arrives at the door like a long-lost friend. He does not jump or bark, but wiggles and wags his tail with unbridled enthusiasm. In fact, I have yet to hear him bark. He shows absolutely no interest in our multiple cats, and will actually go out of his way to avoid them if they are in his path. He actually shows very little interest in our resident dog, either, and seems to be much more people-oriented. He is very good about going outside, doing his duty, and coming right back in, although he also loves following us around the yard if we are working outside. He basically just wants to be by his people.

Fred loves his walks, and shows very little interest in any other dogs that we come across along the way. We discovered that he walks almost perfectly when he is by himself, but pulls a bit when we walk the two dogs together. He will sit and stay at our side on command, and is very in tune with the person walking him. Fred LOVES, LOVES, LOVES, to chase a ball, and will actually throw it around for himself when we humans tire of the game. He can sit and shake hands, and with some additional training, I believe his potential is tremendous! He is still a bit nervous, but is becoming more comfortable with time. This is one lovable boy who is looking forward to finding a forever home where he can shower his family with slobbery love and affection.

Our baby Fred is still having lots of fun in Iowa!  He loves to play at the park with his brother, Toby, and he poses for lots of silly pictures in his holiday gear!  He is a sweet sweet boy who loves everyone he meets!

Our big lover boy, Fred continues to be spoiled in Iowa!  He is living the good life—just as every Golden should!  What can we say——we love him more and more and more everyday!  We love cuddle time with Fred the best!

I look on the RAGOM site often!  We want to say thank you to all the volunteers who take care of these dogs and find them good homes!  You commitment to helping dogs is very much appreciated!

We had another great summer with Fred!  Everyone that meets him LOVES him!  He is still the most perfect dog for our family!  He is super silly and loves to run around and play with all the kids in our neighborhood.  I am not sure what Fred would do without his buddy, Toby!

It is very hard to keep our Goldens off the bed—even when it is time to change the sheets.  Can you say --spoiled!!  We FINALLY got a king size bed and my husband and I are looking forward to some extra room on OUR bed!!

Every time I bring a new bag of stuffed animals home from Goodwill it is like Christmas for our Goldens!  Fred usually opens up the bag and tosses them all around the van before we even get home.

Fred loves to be close to us—especially when food is involved.

Looking forward to a great 2016 year with our sweet guy—Fred!

We love Fred more and more each day!  A BIG "thank you" goes out to RAGOM and all their volunteers for what you do!  Fred was the best match for us!  Here are a few new pictures--

Fred loves to jump up and catch marshmallows in the air!  He rarely misses!

Fred always sticks with his buddy, Toby!  You can always find them together!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Happy Spring!  It has been such a long, COLD winter—we are looking forward to warmer weather so we can play outside more with Fred!

We have had a great summer with Fred! Here is a little update on what he has been up to!

Fred has an endless supply of tennis balls which he loves to play with—good thing he lives with a tennis coach!

Fred also has an endless supply of stuffed animals from Goodwill which he loves to play with—and rip up!

Fred tried out the kiddy pool this summer in our back yard!

Fred preferred to play out of the pool!

We took Fred to a pond and he really wanted to get in to get his tennis balls!

He had a great teacher showing him how to “swim”—our other golden, Toby!

In no time Fred was also playing in the water and having lots of fun!

He will do anything for a tennis ball!

Fred and Toby have become great buddies!

We can’t imagine life without our two goldens!

These two are looking forward to some fall & winter fun!
Thanks RAGOM for all that you do to save goldens!

The first 6 weeks with our new dog, Fred have been AWESOME! We love our new Golden baby!!! Our other Golden, Toby, also loves having a new playmate! They love rolling around together out in the yard!

We take Fred to our local dog park several days a week and he loves to meet new doggie friends! Fred also loves to get lots of attention from the people at the park! Fred really thinks everyone is his long-lost best friend!

After a day of play, Fred loves to make himself comfortable on our bed or the couch!

Fred looks like he is pretty happy here and we love him to pieces!! His nose gets LOTS and LOTS of kisses each day—how can you resist that sweet face! Thanks RAGOM for connecting us to our sweet dog, FRED!

Fun with Fred!

The kids are having lots of fun with Fred and I feel like he is doing very well!

It has been cloudy and rainy all week so Fred has not played with his shadows/sun light very much. If we see that behavior we just try to redirect him!

He stays in the yard so well! He LOVES everyone that comes to our door—and everyone loves him!

He loves to ride in the van as much as Toby! He is the first one in when it is time to pick up the kids from their activities!

My girls have Fred and Toby in matching bandanas! Fred is not a big fan of wearing them but hopefully in time he will be! :)

They both are smiling!

Today is Max’s 11 birthday. He is so happy to have Fred as his new buddy! Fred has been sleeping in our bed mostly but tomorrow we are moving a queen bed up to Max’s bedroom and maybe Fred will sleep with Max! He sure hopes so!!! :)

As if 1 golden watching you cook dinner with those sad eyes is not enough now I have 2! They are saying "just one bite of chicken, please!" and yes--- they got a few bites!

Both dogs are getting along well! They do play together a few times a day. And yes, Fred can bark!!!! When he wants Toby to keep playing with him he will bark at him! :) That is the only time we have heard from him!
