8/13/06: Goldie, what a girl! A small girl, about 55# and blonde. We met Goldie yesterday with the most wonderful man who drove 8-10 hours to get here with her just so we could foster her!!! They had taken very, very good care of her and fell in love really hard. I see why, it will be an easy thing to happen to anyone who comes in contact with Goldie…she has that look and personality. Oh my gosh, what a great loving girl! She is about 4-5 years old and not spayed yet. Goldie is a lover and pup! She traveled well in our truck, and did remarkably well once she met the troops here. She is just happy living, playing and being a dog. She listens well. She knows basic commands and likes to jump up on you for kisses. We will work on the jumping up part. She of course is not heavy, so does not knock you over or anything, just needs some manners.

Goldie is attentive, eager to please and loves to be petted and loved and kissed. She has a wonderful gaite from what I can tell, and is adjusting to the Gentle Leader very well. Will run after a toy if we throw it, just does not bring it back yet! Walks with her head up high. She wants to make sure of different noises ------ she's not sure what a lot of them are, I don’t think. For instance, cement trucks, skateboards, etc. She is just a little bit ‘apprehensive’ is the word I will use, not scared. Really likes the sites of children from what we have observed at this point on a couple of walks.

Goldie has been crated before and does not mind it at all. She will go into her large crate and lay in there and take a nap. She was in her crate when I went to work and she did fine. No accidents, no aggression with anything…not at all with food or treats. She does need to be put in her place as far as where she is in the pecking order. Cats we are working on….gets her tail and curiosity up! She loves to be petted over and over and over. Typical Golden girl and follows you around…not Velcro, just wants to be where the action is. She enjoys looking out the front door and watching the world go by. No barking at all. She goes potty outside with the others and has had no accidents at all. She is such a beautiful smaller Golden girl. Gosh, what a great personality and body!

Her spay is scheduled for this Tuesday. She had her ‘well visit’ today and again, I cannot say enough about the family who had her prior to us. Did a great job. Her check is perfect, she weighs about 56#, just right, everything sounded and looked very good. Goldie eating fine, too. She will glide through surgery tomorrow I am sure and it will be great to have that step behind us. Goldie has a great attitude with training and listening, just needs practice! She is very smart and oh, so loving. The look is enough to make you melt! She is a great dog!

Goldie passed over the rainbow bridge yesterday morning 5/12/14. She will be very missed by her family. She and her buddy Duncan often wore ridiculous head gear for us to celebrate the holidays. She was a very good sport.

My two daughters held birthday party fundraisers for RAGOM and received so much money from their friends because EVERYONE loved Goldie. Thanks so much to RAGOM for rescuing her and entrusting her to us. She was a blessing to all.

Goldie #06-356 is our sweet dog we rescued from you 4 years ago.  She is WONDERFUL!!!  For the past 3 years, my daughter Amelia has held fundraiser birthday parties for RAGOM.  We all are so grateful for the love of this dog and we love to help you rescue more!  Our donation of $100 is in the mail today.  We wanted to share the cute cupcakes she made for her guests that look like golden retrievers - how cute are they??!

Thanks again for all you do,

Our family adopted Goldie in August of 2006. My youngest daughter was 9 months old when we traveled all the way to Sioux Falls, SD to get her. She has been a very important member of our family ever since as you can see from these pictures. Right now, tonight, my oldest daughter is holding her 2nd annual fundraiser party for RAGOM. Thanks for the world's best dog!
