9/11/05: Goldilocks is a beauty! She was a stray, found wandering with a heavy chain and half of a Vari-Kennel attached to her. She was discovered in a very full MN shelter by one of RAGOM's wonderful volunteers, and now we are lucky to be finding this girl a new family! Goldi is a mix of Golden Retriever and some kind of Spaniel, but as you can see from her pictures she looks very golden-ish. She has a beautiful, silky coat with lots of white markings on her face, chest, feet & tail. She is a very petite girl, maybe 50 pounds. She was checked out by the shelter and is healthy; she is HW negative, fecal negative, UTD on all her shots, had Frontline & Heartguard, and was just spayed. She has a very odd bark, it's very soft & hoarse, so barking should not be a problem with her. She has been very friendly with our resident dogs, although she has no interest in playing with them yet. She's been following my girls around, seeming to like them better than the dogs! She was very tolerant of my 5 year old walking her around the house to check things out, so I think she'd definitely like kids in her forever home. She walks very nicely on a flat leash, does not pull at all. I kenneled her for a couple of hours today when we were gone, and she did yap a bit at first, but then settled down nicely before we even left.
We'll get her in to the vet in the next day or so to receive her microchip and have a cut checked on her left rear leg, and then she'll be waiting by the door for her forever family to come & get her! If you'd like to be that family, please email placement
