Grace 07-443

Profile

Meet Grace, more properly known as Nowthen’s Graceful Rose, currently fostered in Ames, Iowa.  Grace is a female purebred 5.5 year old medium dark red beauty with slightly curly hair and light golden feathering on all four legs.  She likes people and other dogs.  The previous owner says she is cat friendly.

She is owner surrendered from a family that had her since she was a puppy.  She has been kenneled outside the majority of her life so is now catching up on how to be an inside dog.  She appears to have had some housetraining.  We think it’s only a matter of reinforcing her good habits until she is completely reliable and able to have the run of the house.  She is crate and baby gate trained which makes things easier.  Surprisingly she does not have the thick coat of a typical outside dog and has only shed a normal amount since getting a good bath and brushing upon arrival.

Grace is playful and loves attention.  She likes to play fetch, tug and wrestle.  Grace loves belly rubs.  She knows most of the basic commands and walks reasonably well at heel.  She will need some work in order to master these skills consistently however.

Grace is eager and alert but needs to develop more self-confidence.  She doesn’t bark.  We judge her to be an intelligent dog with an intense desire to please so think she would be good at agility or other competitive activities.  Grace would be a great companion dog for early school age to teen age children.  She would benefit from an active family that is able to give her lots of attention and exercise.

P.S.  Grace is scheduled for her initial Vet. examination on Friday July 20. She needs to be brought up to data on all shots and spayed.  She will not be available until all Veterinary procedures are completed.

Gracie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 20, 2018.  She was 16.

We were lucky to have this funny energetic girl for 10 1/2 years.  She was a huntress, a lover of walks and a beautiful girl.  She will be forever in our hearts.

Hello everyone,  It's Grace checking in to tell you about my special day. The GOOD NEWS is I'm now all clear for adoption.  We went to see Dr. Lisa this morning to have my shots updated and some tests done.  They tell me I passed everything.  I'm only waiting for the thyroid test results to come back.  No heartworm, intestinal worms or anything yucky!  They also did something called a spay that wasn't fun.  Foster dad Bob just gave me some food so I'm starting to feel better.

My foster dad just asked me what I would like in a forever home.  Well I've been dreaming about this since before I was a RAGOM dog so it's an easy question.  I want someone to spend some time with me.  Remember I was in an outside kennel for most of the time before RAGOM.  I also want someone to give me lots of exercise,  But really I only want someone who will love me as much as I will love them.  Everything else is gravy.

Finally I am sending along some new photos of  me.  I don't like the picture dad sent of me for the top of my page.  It makes me look like I've got a big tongue.  OK I really do have a big tongue but I only let it hang out when I'm hot.  Hope you agree that I'm really a pretty girl.  Remember that if your interested in learning more about why I'm a special dog all you have to do is let Placement now.  I'm anxious to meet you.
