Hello everyone! My name is Gracie and I am 7 years old. Age is only a number as I have the energy of a 3 year old! I may look older because of some BLONDE in my face – some might say it is white, but I know better. I have pearly white teeth like a young pup, a lot of energy and can chase the rabbits in the yard with the youngest of them!

I just came into the RAGOM family this past weekend and whew- it was a weekend! I have two foster furry faced sisters who I love to snuggle with. I found a perfect pillow is my foster sister's butt. She didn't even mind a bit until I started running in my sleep!

I know a lot of neat tricks- sit, stay, shake, down, off, wait, leave it… man I am good at them too! The best trick, the one that makes my foster mom giggle every day, is that I can fit TWO tennis balls in my mouth. Really! Problem is that everyone time my foster mom gets the camera, I drop the balls to sit pretty. No one believes her. Hee hee!

I love to run and have ran the parameters of my fenced yard a million times… ok, maybe just about a hundred times. My foster sisters even gave up trying to keep up and pooped out. I will probably need a fence in my new forever home but I still come when called- especially at my newest learned word, DINNER!

I met some great kids this weekend- ages 5 and 11 and LOVED them. I even cried when they had to leave. I sat with them and ran with them on the leash. I LOVE KIDS!

I don't know much about cats- that is one we will have to see yet. I get along with dogs- am completely submissive and friendly.

I am house trained and don’t chew- even on the shoes that were left around the house this weekend.

I like walks – but I like to pull a little. Not too much – but we can always improved!

So, if you want to meet me – a svelte 60# golden beauty – let your placement advisor know that Gracie is my name!

Say good night Gracie…

It is with heavy hearts we let you know that Gracie (10-255) has crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, October 21, 2016. She was a very special girl to our family and brought us together and most definitely rescued us more than we rescued her. So full of love and energy she loved her tennis balls and ‘patrolling’ the backyard fence perimeter for sneaky squirrels and bunny rabbits and she was also content to relax and sleep on the tile floor in the bathroom (she must have liked the cool feeling of the tile on her fur belly).

Gracie was fostered by Joan in Blaine, MN and came to our home in Lakeville, MN on June 11, 2011 at seven years old and quickly and easily became used to our everyday lifestyle. We went on walks around the neighborhood and at the Burnsville dog park. She loved riding in the car and pacing from one window to the other in the back seat.

Gracie was at her mom’s side while Anne studied for her Certified Medical Coding tests. Gracie offering her own encouragement.

In April 2015 Gracie was examined by her vet and found to have a mass on her liver about the size of a grapefruit. We were hesitant in putting Gracie through surgery at her age of eleven but when we asked Gracie what she wanted to do she said in her own way “Let the chips fall where they may!” She had the surgery and also had had her spleen removed along with a couple lobes of her liver. She pulled through like a trooper and very eager and spunky to play again. Two days after she was back at home with her mom (Anne) who had resigned her career to be home with Gracie during her convalescence and last year and half of her beautiful life.

Gracie began to slow down in her last year mostly from arthritis but we did as much as we could to make her comfortable knowing the day nobody never wants to see come may be upon us.

Gracie crossed the Rainbow Bridge at thirteen years and three days old very suddenly we had just celebrated her birthday the weekend before as we did on all her birthdays with her favorite treat-French dip roast beef sandwiches and Au jus and tennis balls which she just loved to defuzz!

Thank you RAGOM and Joan her foster mom for bringing such a precious gift into our life, Gracie was a treasure to be with and I know she will live on in our hearts forever. As with my other dogs that have crossed over, as cliché as it may sound it is true I hardly go a day without thinking of them.

Love forever sweet Gracie girl.

Hi, this Gracie’s dad John at her forever home. Gracie has been a part of our lives for 2 years now, whew! how fast time has flown!! Gracie is such a delight to have with us she is a great ambassador and loves when people come over and just scratches under her chin. Gracie and I have been going to the dog park in Burnsville a couple times a week she just loves running free and meeting other dogs! She is just the sweetest most mellow girl, Anne (her mommy)loves when she sleeps in bed next to her when I work night shift.

She has been in great health, just had to get a small growth removed from her ear canal and teeth cleaned.   She has a seizure disorder like her dad and takes a pill twice a day for seizure control and a pill for a low thyroid condition, but we have never seen her have a seizure.

Gracie and RAGOM are the greatest!   After losing 2 dogs in the past I didn’t think I could love again, but Gracie quickly dashed those foolish ideas!!  Grace was such a perfect name for her.

Love,

Gracie, John and Anne

Hi everyone!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!

I know it has been a long time since we last spoke, but I have been very busy! I am so happy that spring has arrived! I have been running around the yard chasing rabbits and such – having the time of my life! People really cannot believe I am almost 9 years of age with my energy!

I am doing very well, thank you for asking, with my medications and have not had a seizure in a long time! One pill, twice a day and I am good!

I am getting out for walks and while I still zig zag a little, I am pretty good and remember my manners from last fall before that LONG winter!

I have been having a lot of fun with my foster sisters. I got caught the other day snuggling with my foster sister – but that's ok, I really like being around other furry faces.

I am just giving a quick update because it is so pretty out, I have to go for another walk, but check out my new pictures!

I really would like a new home with older kids (8 and up would be perfect), another dog and a faced yard. I will bring so much love and joy to your life, not to mention that I am quite the comedienne! Let's set up a time to meet- contact your placement advisor and let them know you want to meet me, Gracie 10-255!

Can't wait to meet you too!

Hi everyone!

Can you believe it is almost March!?!? I have been having so much fun outside in the snow. I leap through the snow like no one's business! I even made a snow angel!

I have cabin fever and cannot wait to get outside for my walks again. We have been keeping inside because of the bitter cold, but I can run and play in the snow without much trouble at all. My foster sisters can barely keep up with me- in fact, they are the first ones at the door to come in and I have to be bribed sometimes. J But I have great recall with the word "treat"! I think this is why I should have a fence.

I love my foster sisters and have made friends with all of the dogs in the neighborhood. There are three boys behind us, two next door and two girls on the other side. We have a lot of fun together! I do love being around other dogs!

With the snow melt of a few weeks back, I found some tennis balls in the yard! I now have a collection of them- I think I tricked my foster mom into thinking I had lost them so she would buy more - but finders keepers!

I am putting up some pictures of me getting comfy. I found that if I lie on my back, not only does it make my foster mom laugh, but I get belly rubs! One night, I was sleeping and having a great puppy dream… I think I was chasing the silly rabbits because I had quite a gallop going! They say I am a senior, but only in years! I can still run and play with younger doggies!

Ok, back to my nap- I would love to meet you and see if we can be BFFs! If you want to meet me- tell your placement coordinator- it's Gracie!

Good night Gracie!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick note before Valentine's Day to wish you all love and joy! I have so much to give – won't you consider a mature lady for your home?

I know I look older but I am so full of energy and my foster mom calls me a "spit fire". I am not sure what that means but I know she smiles when she says it! My medicine has been working great! I haven't had any seizures in a long time (at least in front of my foster mom). I love to run and leap through the snow- it is really hard to believe that I am a "senior" dog – I bet I can wear out some of those puppies! But I have the upper hand on them - I am fully housetrained and have learned my manners! I sit and wait for dinner, shake, sit, stay and more!

I hope to find my forever home, but I know that I am having fun now in my temporary home! I have two furry sisters that I love to cuddle with and a foster mom who has found all the right scratch spots to get me to talk! (Yep, I talk!) Little kids scare me a little bit – but if they are over say 10 years of age, I love to run and play with them.

So If you have some other furry faces in your home and older children- I will fit right in. I require love, heavy petting, a fenced yard to run and play, tennis balls and more love. I give more love than you can imagine, puppy kisses, sassy talk back (which is really funny) and a great snuggle for naps on the couch!

If you want to meet me- tell your placement coordinator- it's Gracie!

Good night Gracie!

Happy holidays!!

I am just LOVING this snow – I even love to roll around in it! I snack on it- not the yellow snow though! I hope this hangs around for awhile! My foster mom doesn't seem to like it as much as me… wonder why?

So as you can see, we took holiday pictures and I think I look pretty cute! I asked Santa for a new home for the holidays.. I have bee a good girl, so maybe? Here is my list for Santa: A warm home with furry friends, lots of tennis balls, a fence would be nice, some kids about 8 years and older, belly rubs and ear scratches.

I am doing very well in my foster home – no seizures for a long time now that my foster mom has seen. And I was told that I have a Secret Santa (ok, they said a sponsor, but it is like a special Santa, right?) and I wanted to say thank you so much for sponsoring me! I felt the love you sent! And I am sending it right back to you!!

Until later- I am told there is a big holiday this week – and some turkey to share… hmmm… this could be lots of fun!

Say goodnight Gracie!

Hello From Gracie!

Just a quick note to say hi and update some pictures of me.  I just got groomed and I am prancing around the house because I know I am cute!!!  I loved the bandana- for about a minute- so that lasted at least for the picture!

Have a great weekend and here comes the snow! I will let you know how that goes next week… hopefully we won’t get a lot of snow!

Have a great weekend!

Hello!

Gracie's foster mom here. Just wanted to take a moment and tell you what a special little lady we have here for adoption.

Gracie came to me as an owner surrender and she was a little stand off-ish and hesitant with giving or receiving affection. I knew she was confused with all of the changes going on and the reasons why. So I gave her time and space and love and affection and wow, has she just opened up and

* She gets along great with my two resident dogs and loves to run in the yard. She flirts with the three male dogs that live behind us – tails wagging the whole time. I think the boys look for her- my girls never really gave them the time of day, so they love it!

* She is a little intimidated by cats, especially those "loud" ones – but she is submissive. But in a friendly cat home she will do great… I imagine they will be great friends!

* She actually cuddles with my resident dogs on the couch – and this morning, I found her up on the back pillows of the couch – I think she feels at home!

* She is a lady- gently taking food from your hand, sitting pretty waiting for the "OK" to eat dinner or gently pawing at you for pets.

* One funny thing that she has "developed" is a tea-kettle alert if she pushed her tennis ball under the couch. I didn't know what it was at first- she keeps her mouth closed, but her jowls produce a whistle. It is quite hilarious! She is a hoot!

* She is very attached to her tennis balls. I have yet to get the picture of her with the two in her mouth- it is so adorable. But every time I ask her to stay so I can get the camera, she drops them and poses. I have to figure this one out. It is too adorable not to share!

* She is a cuddler! Now that her personality is really coming through, she is a lover and a saddler and seeks out loves. She loves to snuggle and I find in the mornings her curled up with one of the resident dogs or right up beside me in bed.

* She is a very special girl and so full of love – she does great with older kids- the little ones are a little to loud and unpredictable for her- so I would say at least 7 or 8 years of age. But she LOVES playing with kids.

* She is happy on a leash or hanging at the house- just as long as she is with per people, she is happy. I went to a neighbor's house and was gone for about 30 minutes- she was so happy that I was home!! It was as if I had been gone all day! But she is not destructive – she just misses her people!

* Since on her medication, she has yet to have a seizure in my presence. That isn't to say she isn't having them, but I can see a difference in her on the medication. It is reasonably priced and now available through Target pharmacy so even more affordable!

I really think this is a special little lady and I know that anyone would be blessed to have her in their home. If you think Gracie would be a great addition to your home, please contact your placement advisor and ask to meet her!

Thank you!

Hello!

Happy Halloween!! My Foster mom is taking us out tonight to trick or treat in the neighborhood- ok, not really, but I thought it sounded like fun. She tried to put costumes on us and that didn't work out. I can give a really unhappy face – I may not speak words, but I got the point across!

Update on my medicine- I am doing GREAT!!! I haven't had a seizure since I have been on the meds, at least not while my foster mom is home. I have energy and run and play and doing well!

I still am chasing the rabbits in the morning- haven't caught one yet – but keep trying. This is why I need a fence! Abby, my foster sister, and I race every morning to the rabbit hole – I have been winning lately!

I am really settling into the house- took a little bit but I think I was a little confused about what was going on. I now snuggle with my foster sisters on the couch and in bed. My foster mom has been trying to get a picture of it, but I always sneak away. But she did get a great picture of my foster sister Sammy kissing me!

I am asking Santa that for Christmas, I can have a family of my own! Some kids to play with (a little older than 7 or 8 years of age, little ones scare me a little- I don't bite, but I get scared and cower), tennis balls, a fenced yard to run and play in the spring time, summer time and fall time, tennis balls, another doggie or kitty (friendly to me) that will keep me company during the day, tennis balls, a people to cuddle with at night and watch Cesar Milan (LOVE that guy- I really look forward to Friday nights) and maybe some tennis balls. I am hoping that I am asking him early enough that maybe my wish will come true.

If you think I would be a good fit for your family and your family for me – tell your placement advisor that you want to see Gracie!

Say good night Gracie!

Hello again!

I am sorry it has been so long since I last wrote. I haven't been able to get on the computer- my foster mom is always on it working!

Foster mom is taking me to the vet to check me out- I had some seizures lately and we want to make sure I am ok! I get right up after them, but it is something that we have to have the vet look at. I hope they don't want to take my temperature… Anyway, this is why I really need a companion at my forever home- either another doggie or a stay at home people. When I have seizures, I will come to you and stick close by and while they are happening, I need petting and loving and soothing words to help me through.

Ok, on to some GOOD NEWS!!!

The weather has been wonderful and I have been out on walks LOVING IT! I still need some work on the walking – well I walk fine, but I tend to zig zag and I should be to one side OR the other. Wonder why? A nice long walk is what I live for – that and TENNIS BALLS!!! Did I mention that I also am very intrigued with people on television?

I got another bath the other day and I have to tell you, I am not too fond of them. I gave my foster mom a look that I think really got the point across. She laughed, but I didn't find it amusing. I sure did look pretty afterwards! I actually pranced around the house – I knew I was beautiful before but now… look out!

I am out enjoying the weather – playing fetch (although my foster mom has to make me drop the ball every time), walking, and playing with my foster sisters … this Minnesota weather is great!

Say goodnight Gracie!

Hello!

I hope you are all doing well!

It has been a fun week at my foster home! I have really enjoyed bonding with the resident dogs! We cuddle and snuggle and have become really good friends! I know that in my forever home, I want another dog that will cuddle and snuggle with me too when we are home alone!

I have tried to fit three tennis balls in my mouth and that has not worked out well- I keep dropping them, but I haven't given up hope yet!

I haven't had any seizures in over a week! I am doing really well. I think too much excitement brings them on, so we have been keeping it pretty low key over all but still out playing and walking!

Here is what I am looking for in my forever home:

* A fenced yard- I love to run and play freely! And my recall is something we are working on yet! So it is best to give me boundaries- rabbits and squirrels are just too interesting yet to give up chasing!

* Another dog that loves me as much as I love him/her so I have a furry brother or sister when my peoples are out and about- I get lonely very easily

* Lots of love and attention- I love to cuddle and snuggle and get loves

* A home that is okay with dogs in bed, on furniture- I make myself at home!

* Tennis Balls – an endless supply – some outside, some inside, some we haven't found yet

I hope you have a great weekend! I am going for a day of beauty of bath and brush and nails! SO excited!

Say goodnight Gracie!

Hello! It is me again- Gracie!

We had such a great weekend.  I loved meeting so many of you on Sunday at Pet Smart in Maplewood.  I got all kinds of loving – from parents and kids alike!  While I was there, I got my nails done.  It is so much easier now – they were a little long.  I was a good girl for it too.  The grinder scared me a little at first, but then I did pretty good.  We also went in to see some kittens – I didn't care much for them – really could have cared less.  I mean I can live with them – I won't be mean or anything. I like everyone!

I did have some bonding time with Nikko (10-251) while there.  What a handsome boy.  He is so sweet.  We cuddled for a little bit.  He was a perfect gentleman.  I think my foster mom liked him too!

I did have a little seizure on Sunday night.  I think all of the excitement of the day may have gotten to me.  Thankfully, my seizures are very mild and I just trembled all over for about 3 minutes and drooled.  My foster mom laid down next to me and we snuggled.  I went outside afterwards and came in like nothing had happened bouncing around and happy as usual.  It was a little scary but I am good as new!

Did I mention that I love tennis balls? I got a new set this weekend as well.   I have three outside and three inside.  I haven't managed to get three in my mouth yet- but I have mastered getting two in.  One of these days I may let my foster mom get a picture of me.

Ok, I am outta here- have to go take a nap.  It is a busy day today of chasing tennis balls, rabbits and chilling with my foster sisters!

I hope to meet you soon! I will bring you so much love and joy – if you want to meet me – please contact your placement coordinator and tell them Gracie 10-255 is the one you want to meet.

Say goodnight Gracie…
