Jake has adjusted well following a follow-up surgery to pull four teeth that were broken from his time at the shelter. He really does not like to be kenneled and would like a forever family that understands his need to be left out in the house without being kenneled. Left to his own devices, Jake snuggles up on his favorite blanket when no one is home, and double-checks the counters to make sure that all food has been put away by his foster family. In Jake's world, all food left out is fair game, so he has taught his family to make sure all food gets put away in it's proper place.
Jake loves to go for walks and is safe for even younger children to walk. He is patient and playful, and truly acts like a dog half his age. He enjoyed helping to hand out candy on Halloween and had several repeat children and families that came back just to visit him again at the front door.
Jake would make a great single dog family, or a companion to other dogs. He loves toys, but does not guard them, and loves to carry around his "baby" for people to see. This guy is a sweet, loving boy who is ready to come home to his forever family.
Jake here - I hope that you enjoyed your Halloween, I know I sure did! Lots of people came to the front door and they all wanted to see me! I got to lick so many sweet faces and I got lots of pets! My foster family is starting to plan for something called Christmas; I am not sure what that is, although I hear there might be a tree coming to live in the house - seems funny to me, but whatever my foster family wants to do, I will be there to help!
I hope you will consider visiting me - I know my profile says that I am 9, but I feel like a young, spry guy. I love to play ball and go outside, and I am a true gentleman. I know because everyone tells me so! Come see me soon!
