King was adopted by a great family from Wisconsin. Tammy and Gene live with their resident dog, Penny, who was adopted through a Wisconsin rescue. They love King and he will live a great life with them!

King has been very happy being around many people over the last few weeks! We have had a full house with many guests, and he has done great!
He has gotten very good at sitting on command and staying when asked. He loves his daily walks and now knows the signs of us getting ready to head out into the cold for a walk!
He also is fascinated with watching animals on TV, especially other dogs! Look at how cute he looks watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!!
He still looks to Riley, our resident dog, for guidance, but has also learned he can be independent, especially out in our fenced-in yard. King will be a great addition to your home and will love you so much!!

King is a sweet, quiet dog that loves to be with people! He has really learned a lot in the short time he has been with us.
We are walking each night, and he is learning about walking nicely and at a good pace. He looks forward to the walks now and is starting to know the signs of us getting ready to go: mittens, hats, scarf, etc.
He also has learned what the command "sit" is and tries very hard to do it! Sometimes, he is so excited that he has a hard time getting in the "sit" position, but eventually he does.
He wags his tail so often it makes my heart smile! He also has learned what a good treat tastes like and enjoys those as well, and he takes them very gently.
King likes to go outside with our resident dog Riley and takes in what he is seeing Riley do. Riley loves stick, so King will pick up a stick now and just stand there, but it is a start! Riley loves chasing squirrels, and King does, too! They are good pals, and King will need another dog in the house to show him the ropes!
King is ready for adoption and looking for a great family to call his own!

King came in last week from a commercial breeding facility. He is a 4.5-year-old English Creme Golden Retriever.
He is vetted and up to date on shots. He weighs in at 57 lbs. and tested negative for parasites. He is being treated for a double ear infection and will be neutered on Thursday.
King had his first ever bath and was very scared at first, but when we were all done, he was a happy dog. He smells so much better.
King needs another large dog in his forever home as he continues to learn from a confident dog.
He has learned many new things in the short week he has been with us:
- He is able to do steps to go outside to potty.
- He is going through doors and coming back inside.
- He is learning how to live inside a house.
- He loves the soft rugs to lay on.
- He enjoys good food.
We are taking baby steps with King. He is very scared of some noises, but continues to work through them.
Cooper, our resident dog, helps King feel comfortable and is always near. King likes to see Cooper and us all the time; it makes him feel secure for now.
He is also skittish at times. but that will improve once he feels more confident.
He doesn't know toys, but he found a tennis ball and played with it for a bit. He also grabbed a stuffed toy and shook it. So, he's trying new things, which is nice to see as we just take for granted all dogs like toys and noises do not frighten them.
Stay tuned more to come as we learn more. Follow King's adventure.
King in unavailable until he is neutered and we know more of what he will need in his forever home.
