Our beautiful, petite ‘auction’ breeder golden girl Lizzy has been adopted. Lizzy will enjoy beautiful acres near a canyon in another part of the state with beautiful trees and wild flowers and many trails to walk. She will have 2 new sisters, one is 5 and the other is 8. (goldens).  She has a very experienced canine and feline household who will be home all day too!  Does not get much better than that.  They are prior adoptees and are just an outstanding family.  Lizzy will have furry friends and humans to be around her all day long, go for walks and keep growing and growing in her emotional well-being.  This family more than understands the special needs of the breeding mamas (not to mention she is from an auction too).  Takes special families to really understand, work with and love these goldens who are just more emotionally needy than some others.  We will sure miss our Lizzy girl who was just adored as a foster girl and has come so very far from her very poor beginnings.

Our Lizzy girl is coming out of her ‘shell’ more and more. She is such a doll. Still collects all her babies, and finds new ones. So cute to watch.  She now goes in/out with the pack to the backyard to potty with no problems; however, know she will always be the first one in!

She has a great appetite and is not real fussy what she eats. She loves her cheese, hard-boiled egg, banana, cold chicken and dog treats (healthy). Has a gentle mouth. She will come quite a ways out to me to get a snack (all three will be together) and she will walk away to eat it and come back for more. Oh those eyes!! She is so soft. She remains on the thin side (which is probably just her metabolism).

Due to the lousy weather we have not been out much for walks whether going in car or not. She is doing much better in/out of car. I still use the ‘step in’ harness plus the martingale collar and she stays well on my left side and is walking very nice.

Lizzy is just so innocent and sweet. She is getting used to the 4 month old grandson coming over too. Have had our bigger grandchildren (who are well behaved around animals) and they can just sit on the step by her and pet her. Totally fine with that.

My corgi still ‘intimates’ her when I take her back to ‘bed’ in her crate in the bedroom as he is standing there waiting for me. Otherwise she will follow me back and go right to bed, where there are yet more babies! Lizzy is ready for that ‘right’ home. She will, when the time comes, be very difficult to let go.  Just adore her…….

Maggie and Lizzy....cute Girls! 10 year difference, wow!!

Our foster girl Lizzy is such a sweet, beautiful girl.  She is blossoming more each day and learning this new golden life is great! We are taking things slow and steady. There have been some busy times around here lately and of course the beginnings of the holiday season too.  We have been so pleased with how she is handling it all.  Taking it all in……seeing that life can be very good and people can be trusted. More importantly, she is safe.  Lizzy is so enjoyable to watch blossom as she learns and come out of that ‘shell’ she had been kept in prior……. being a breeder mom and having puppies.

Lizzy is now coming in and out of her crate more freely and with confidence……. checking out different areas of the house. She is collecting stuffed toys (“babies”) with anxiety and happiness.  She, like many prior breeders, collect them and take them back to their safe spot/den/crate and keep them by her so they are safe and by her.  Such a mama!  She is also learning that getting in the vehicle is not so scary and bad and doing so much better!  We will drive to a park and go for long walks with the other two and she really enjoys those.

Lizzy is so soft and cuddly to pet and love up.  Such a soft, beautiful coat and that doll face! Oh!! She loves her treats and she is so fun to watch her tail wags and butt wiggles.

Lizzy (short for Elizabeth) is a beautiful 5 ½ year old purebred golden retriever (DOB 6/12/12). She is a very petite little girl, weighing in at 50#. She is light golden/blonde in color. She crates well. Lizzy has a great disposition. She remains somewhat shy but is adjusting well to this new “golden” life – love, lots of attention, good food and walks, play and exercise. She does great with our pack – consisting of 2 dogs, one female white/black border collie/eskie mix (Maggie a senior (15) and one Pembroke male corgi (Eddie) who is 8. She ignores the senior cats (3 of them).

Lizzy loves her human contact and kisses. She enjoys the large fenced backyard and checking out all the new smells and experiencing the ‘freedom’ of romping around. Lizzy has now been spayed. She will make such a great addition to a family who is dedicated to the rehabilitation, training and love of these rescued ‘breeding’ golden’s, thanks to RAGOM.

She has now been spayed, teeth cleaned and all her shots and she is doing well. Surgery went great (we were sure hoping she was not pg!) and now she is feeling very good; good energy level. She came in with horrible very long toe nails….several inches long. They of course are now all cut back nice and we can go for walks. Lizzy walks very nice. We use a ‘step-in’ harness (along with martingale collar) and she is very pleasant to walk! She is beginning now to show signs of interest in some stuffed toys…so cute! (her “new” babies!). Lizzy has had a very long road and is truly amazing how far she has come.
