This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Let me introduce you to Luna. She is an 8- to 9-year-old Golden mix. She is 48 pounds.

Luna is an absolute sweetheart!! She came to us a week ago from a family who had just had a baby, and apparently, the crying baby really stressed the poor girl out. We have had her for a week and I think she has adjusted very well. I think she thinks she has always been part of the family.

The first couple of nights went great! We had her in the mud room the first day with a baby gate, as she does not like kennels (we are working on that). Her very generous foster Daddy spent the first night on the kitchen floor right by her. She didn't make a peep all night! The second night, he slept on the living room floor by her. She got spoiled right from the start!

She is completely house trained. Does great in a car and does not need a physical fence.

As far as kids, she would need a home with kids aged 5+, as babies obviously didn't work for her. We have 5- and 7-year-olds, and she does wonderfully with them! Loves to be around them, lets them pet and lay by her...she'll go up to them and ask for attention if they're ignoring her for too long!

As far as other dogs, she tends to bark at dogs she sees on walks, etc., but her background stated she is fine with older, mellow dogs. We have not introduced her to any dogs since we've had her. Cats is unknown.

Her energy level is probably typical for an 8- to 9-year-old. She's pretty mellow, but can still get really excited and loves going for walks. She walks great on just a flat leash.

Her background also stated she has no storm or separation anxiety. She had an incident when she was left for about 3 1/2 hours where she chewed and scratched at the wood trim around the door leading to the garage, as that is where we come and go. Based on her background from her surrendering owner, my guess is she's still feeling a little insecure and wanted to make sure we were coming back.

All in all, she is an incredibly sweet, sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She loves to sit and cuddle, and of course, constantly be pet. She drops to her side to have her belly scratched at every chance she gets.

Luna would do best in a home where she get lots and lots of TLC, as an only dog or with older dogs. Kids, if any, should be aged 5+, and she would love a very comfy couch!
