Moose 15-014

Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
January 18, 2015  not required  5+  optional  yes
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Moose and Taffy are a bonded pair of senior goldens.  They have been together all of their lives.  It is the surrendering owners hope and my recommendation that they be adopted together. They were surrendered to RAGOM because their owner recentlypassed away and the surviving family could not keep them due to the number of resident dogs and space limitations in their home.  They are both great passengers in the car and I understand they were used to travelling with their previous owner.  It is apparant that they have been loved and well cared for.  It is also obvious that they are distraught about their change in circumstances.  Moose spends a good deal of time waiting by the door.  Taffy is either at my side or Moose's side.  They both are housetrained and well behaved.  For the most part they get along with my pair of resident goldens and they pretty much ignore the cat.

Moose is a large teddy bear who is neutered but not up to date on his vaccinations.  We will be getting this done shortly. He loves human attention and is very calm with my resident dogs.  He jumps up and down the 2 steps to the patio with ease and can get into and out of the car by himself.  Moose can be a counter surfer and surrender comments indicated that he liked to chew up paper.  So far the only thing he has chewed on are some old vet records.

Both Moose 15-014 and Taffy 15-015 have settled in quickly in the past two weeks.  Both dogs are very friendly and greet us with happy barks, hops and kisses when we come home from being at work or out on errands.  Taffy is easily the smartest dog we have every adopted.  She follows us from room to room and watches intently. Taffy almost always follows her observation time with a request for a tummy rub.  She is also the boss of everyone.  She intiates play with our resident dog, Moose and with her humans.  Moose is a laid back snuggler.  He has quickly learned that he is allowed on the leather couch and looks forward to cuddling whenever he can.  All three dogs love toys and now we have 3 Lamb Chops from Fleet Farm since everyone decided that the original Lamb Chop was their favorite toy.

We have gone on a few short walks.  The cold weather means that we are not going too far and have not met the neighbors and kids who will definitely be visiting the three happy dogs to give them some love.  We are grateful that Ragom fostered these dogs and allowed us to adopt them.  They are a joy to have in our family.

We have attached a picture of the dogs all lined up and sitting very nicely waiting for a treat. Colby (Resident), Moose and Taffy

There is also a picture of Moose and Taffy playing tug with one of the 3 Lamb Chops under my desk while I work at home.

Moose was adopted along with his companion Taffy by the S family on February 8.  In the short time they were with us the both really opened up.  They learned to play with the resident dogs.  They developed a love of popcorn.  And they were just generally a joy to have around.  I know that they will be very happy in their new forever home.

Moose is really coming out of his shell.  He has decided that he likes a soft spot to lay down whether it is one of the new dog beds I bought, the couch or the bed if I forget to shut the bedroom door.  Moose may be 9 years old but he has lots of energy and loves to play.  When he wants attention he will simply lean against you until you pet him.  If you want him to stop you are going to have to give him a pretty good two handed belly rub.  He watches out for Taffy 15-105 and gets along well with both resident goldens.
