Welcome to RAGOM Odin! Odin is a 2-3 year old golden retriever mix. He came from a very loving family who adopted Odin from a rescue about 2 years ago. Unfortunately their son has a severe allergy and the only choice they had was to surrender Odin. He gets along great with our resident dogs and loves playing with them as you can tell from the picture below.

Odin was originally picked up as a stray by another rescue. He is very shy, especially around new people. Odin is a little skittish especially around loud noises, sudden movements, and new experiences. One thing Odin doesn't like is being on a leash, he will usually just freeze. He was never leashed trained. That is something we are working on with him.

Now for the good stuff. Odin is super sweet and loves attention once he trusts you. After just a few days he was comfortable to jump on the couch and take a nap next to me. To our surprise by night 5 in our house he even jumped on our bed and curled up right in between us. He also loves to run and play. Also, he is learning that attention is good and when the other dogs are getting attention he leans in for pets. He also takes a treat well and follows the pack in and out for outside time. He is also potty trained.

Things Odin will need in his forever home:

A fence

Another confident dog to help him continue to learn

Patience and time to adjust.

Odin is doing really well adapting to his foster home. We really think he needs an energetic dog in his forever home because he LOVES to play and play and play. He does a good job of reading our resident dogs' cues when they want to stop playing and is content just laying down and relaxing for a few minutes.

Odin has had free roam of the house and has had no issues or accidents. He hasn't attempted to take anything off the counter. Odin does beg a little, but will sit nicely and patiently wait in case some food drops on the floor. We are still working on learning that a leash is ok, he really is afraid of it.

Odin is very sweet and is frequently coming up to us to get attention. He has beautiful brown eyes that will melt your heart. I tried to get a picture, but he is always turning his head. He is a really wonderful dog that just needs some love and patience.

If Odin sounds like the perfect addition to your family please contact your placement advisor!
