Hi RAGOM! My name is Caden, and I am 8 weeks old. My estimated birthday is 10/7/2015. My brothers and I were born on a reservation in ND and urgently needed help……luckily for us RAGOM agreed to take us into the family!  We have now been with our Foster Mom (FM) getting healthier and stronger and preparing to go into separate foster homes. When I first came to FM we all weighed just under 5 lbs, had coccidia, roundworms, and some other buggies that wanted to live on us. But in 3 weeks I have gained 2.5 lbs and received medicine to help me with the other things. I am working on getting a nice thick coat of fur so I can play in the snow this winter!

Life has gotten pretty great since we came to rescue. There is plenty of food to eat, medicine to help us, people to love on us, and warm beds to sleep on. My brothers and I have been pretty busy though; we wake up FM early, then eat, play, potty, play, potty, sleep, and start all over a few hours later. We’ve been able to play outside and can handle the snow and winter pretty well for our young age! We like to grab sticks and then run from each other.

I am yellow like my brother Oliver but a little darker than him. We aren’t exactly sure who our mommy or daddy is but it just means more suspense as we grow and change. And since we are mixes, we will tend to be healthier long term. Bonus!

I eat my food really fast right now (so do all my brothers), but it is common in pups/dogs from the reservation since we may not have known when food was coming next. FM is working on teaching us there will always be enough food for our bellies and we don’t need to inhale it. When my brothers and I go into separate foster homes (soon), it should also help as we won’t feel the need to compete.

I have been working hard on learning all about the world and becoming well rounded. FM works with us every day on having new experiences, hearing new sounds, and meeting new people. We can all now “sit” for treats (YUM!) and have mastered going up and down stairs. FM says socialization is so important for all puppies and we trust her so we’ll go ahead and try our best to pay attention to her lessons.

Since my brothers and I are now over 8 weeks old, it is time for us to separate from each other and develop independently. I am heading to my very own new foster home today. FM says she will miss me but is excited for what is in my future. Are you my future? FM says there is a forever family out there for each of us!

Puppies are a lot of work, and I will be no exception. We require a lot of time, devotion, patience, and energy. We will chew on your furniture and potty on your floors. We need you to help continue to socialize us and teach us the world is a good place so that we can become the very best pups we can be!

Updates

Caden has been adopted! His new name is Odin, and his Mom is a photographer so we have some pictures from his very first day in his new home.

Here is a last update from Odin himself!

I miss you but I am well. I slept in the kennel last night but was a little unsure of it so I cried a little, but then my new mom came and snuggled me a bit. I went to my first super bowl party and I was a hit! I have been super tired so I've been sleeping a lot but my new home has so many smells and I enjoy exploring them. I helped fold clothes this morning and also rode in the car to take dad to work. We were up and about around 6:30. I haven't ate much for breakfast but I was still snacking around midnight so maybe that's why I'm not very hungry. I continue to work on sit, shake, down, stay and "other paw." That's when I lift up my right paw, but I prefer to lift only my left. The right feels funny.

My new parents keep calling me Odin. Mom is still hopeful for Walter but I think I like Odin so we will stick with that and maybe Walter can be my middle name.

I hope you got snuggles this morning. I wish I could be in both places to give everyone an abundance of cuddles but maybe I will come visit you once I've been settled. Thank you so much for taking care of me and giving me love. Who knows where I would be without your help. I love you forever!

Caden here! Since FM's last update a lot has happened! I visited a really nice bunch of humans who gave me treats, let me take a long nap and when I woke up I felt like something was missing. Can't quite put my paw on it, but apparently it made my FM happy. I got treats but couldn't play with Charlie for almost a week! I'm all better now!

FM took me to the vet the other day and he told FM that I am a very healthy boy. I weigh 21.4 lbs! I am doing very well with potty training (I had a few accidents last week, FM said something about typical male...whatever that means) but I was having so much fun wrestling, zooming and playing tag, that I forgot to go outside! I also have two good dog role models, Cooper and Charlie. I just do what they do.
I love my crate and my toys so when FM goes to work I get a treat and go right in to my crate. I like it there. I sleep there all night too, not a whimper from me! I'm a big boy! Sure love the weekends though, nonstop playing!
Well, better go now. Charlie is at the door, time to play!

Hi! My name is Caden and my FM says I'm getting to be a big boy!

I've been away from my brothers for over a week now but I have a new Foster brother and just lost my Foster sister. She found her forever home. (I get the vibe that I have been tolerated but I don't care, I love them both). My neighbor Charlie is a BIG puppy, just turned 1 and loves to play. FM tells him to play nice. He is BIG!I know how to sit and just yesterday figured out what shake means...I get a treat! I get a treat when I poop and pee outside- whaaaaat? I get a treat when I go willingly in my kennel when FM can't watch me....what a cool place to be.FM got me my own kennel, and now I don't pee or poop in there...nasty right? I am a RAGOM puppy and I am loved. What more reason to make me your companion for life. I will be a lot of work at first, but I have been given a gift of a very good start and lots of love. I hear that's what all RAGOM puppies are blessed with.I have to go outside and do my business now, and play...lots! I'm a RAGOM puppy.

You're up FM!!!

Caden is progressing nicely, very smart little boy. He has to be neutered in the next few weeks but will be ready to adopt very soon! Please contact your placement advisor and talk it over with your family....forever home is for forever.Merry Christmas from Caden!
