Puppy Charlie 05-185

Profile

Charlie is a 4 month old Golden Retriever mix bundle of energy! He came to us from a vet who has been treating him for broken toes. I don't know how it happened, but I guess the owner couldn't pay the bill so he left Charlie at the vet's office. The staff fell in love with him because he is so sweet and friendly, so they decided they had to find him a good home. Poor little guy has been in a crate with an E collar on for 3 weeks, so he is now making up for lost play time. Loves toys and running. Still does a lot of puppy mouthing. He is sweet and cuddly and loves to be on my lap. He is a bit thin and has a very good appetite. We are feeding him several small meals a day. I don't know what he is mixed with but he reminds me a lot of Scooby 03-053, who was a Collie/Golden mix. It could be that they seem alike because they were both about the same age when we had them here. Charlie has white on his paws and a little white star on the top of his head. His coat is definitely Golden - reddish gold and wavy with cute little feathering on his back legs.

We went to the lake this weekend but Charlie couldn't get his cast wet, so we had to stay away from the water. He ran around the yard with a baggie over his cast. He gets around great with the cast - it's like he doesn't even know it's there. He needs x-rays this week then maybe he can have it off.

He is very good about going potty as soon as he gets out the door. He has a few accidents in the house but we're trying to pay attention to what signals he's giving us so we can avoid those. He sleeps through the night in his crate with no accidents and will whine to get us up in the morning to take him outside. He rides well in the car and was great with all the other dogs at the lake.
