This is Nell’s final update. She met her adopter, Katie, and her dog, Sally, a couple of weeks ago but we waited a bit for her spay operation. In those two weeks, Nell gained about six pounds and grew quite tall. She’s sixteen pounds now, microchipped, up-to-date on shots, and growing more confident and excited by all there is to explore out in the world. She is almost housebroken. There are very few accidents. She goes to the door and no longer slips behind a chair.
Nell has become a great playmate for our resident dog, Bella. She will be missed. Gypsy has also played with her more than any other puppy we have fostered. She fits into our pack and the older dogs spoil her rotten by letting her have her way most of the time.
As the weather warmed up some and the ground unfroze, Nell began digging for treasure in the backyard and would bring in pennies and hide them behind chairs or drop them on her dog bed. She was comfortable and compliant about going into her crate, but preferred the dog bed a few feet away when given free roam. She’d look up at you like she was saying, "I’m more grown up now and you can let me sleep here.” Of course, she would still rather sleep on the bed.
Nell is now at her new home in Northfield, going on walks with Katie and Sally. Have a good life, Nell, I mean Rosie. You are a real sweetheart and were so fun to foster. I’m sure you will make their life lively and keep Sally and Katie busy.
