We couldn't be happier having this beautiful girl in our house! Her silly and loving personality has really come in full force after her second week here. Everything went well at her visit with the vet last Monday; they said she was healthy with no problems. There have been some minor improvements in her behaviors, but she does still need patience and work in some areas.
She still exhibits levels of anxiety when we are leaving. Her anxiety is the worst when we start to leave, where she shows signs of stress (panting, ears back, shaking) and will try to push through the door while we're going out. Thankfully she is not destructive while we're gone, doesn't incessantly bark, and does not have accidents while we are away. We believe she whimpers for a bit after we leave and then she'll go to her bed and lay down until we get back. After two weeks here, she's gained a slight bit of independence, and isn't quite as clingy as she first was when she arrived. She does still follow from room to room, though it's slightly improved. Some of this stress is undoubtedly transitional, and is slowly getting better with use of her Kong toy, bones, and simply adjusting to her new environment.
It seems Rylie doesn't care much for fetch, but she does love to run around the backyard and will even play tag for a bit. She's gotten better with leash walking, but only with the Gentle Leader in place. Her training has seemed to plateau with being a loose-leash walker unfortunately. She doesn't care for treats or training whatsoever during walks. We're starting to exercise her more before training sessions, and will see if that improves her openness to learn good manners on the leash. Rylie did go for her longest walk through an area she hasn't been before, and while she was overstimulated and showed an eager interest in passing cars, she didn't attempt to run or pull after them.
She's still very much a goofball who loves attention. She's such a people person and loves everyone who comes over. She'll happily greet and entertain them with lots of kisses, doing her parades with her bone, and loves to keep their attention by sitting right next to them, or on top of their lap! Rylie is wonderfully sweet, loving, playful, and very intelligent. Everyone who has met her has fallen in love.
