Sally 17-221A

Profile

Sally is one of the ten Missouri auction dogs that arrived in RAGOM's care on Saturday, October 21. Sally loves being with her people and if they want to pet her, all the better. She is more social than one normally expects from a dog who has lived in a breeding environment. She has an adorable line of hair down her nose. I call it a mohawk, it stands up and is adorable. She uses a kennel as a safe spot. We leave the door open, but you will often see her resting in her kennel. So far, she hasn't experienced toys, but she'll learn. All is new to her and it is so fun to watch a dog blossom into a confident, relaxed dog. She is scheduled for a dental and her spay this week. She will then be ready to interview possible forever homes.

Sally has found her forever home!  We wish everyone the best!

Monday, October 30, 2017

Sally has been with us now for one week and she is wonderful.  She is very friendly with humans and gets along well with the five other dogs in her foster home.  She is really happy when you go outside with her.  We've been working on letting her know that jumping up on us is not the best way to greet people.  She loves to be petted and will even sit to be petted.  She doesn't know that toys are to be played with, or balls chased.  She did learn that she could reach up and grab a stick of butter off the counter -- we now put the butter out of reach.  The first night she was scared of her food dish, now, she likes to carry it around.

Because of her history of living in a breeding environment, we are requiring a fenced in yard, another dog in her home and no children under 12.  She has not exhibited any aggression and only been sweet, sweet, sweet.  She is a beautiful girl and she would love to be your best friend.
