Sebo is being fostered with Shark (14-229) and these fluffy boys were separated from their brothers and sisters on Sunday, November 23. They are very happy to have each other for company and love to chase one another and chew on each other's faces and legs.
Sebo went to the vet for the first time on Nov. 26. He weighed 7 pounds (but he continues to gain weight every day) and had his first puppy vaccinations (booster due in 3 weeks). He was also dewormed. Sebo was diagnosed with Coccidia and will be given treatment over the next few weeks, along with treatment for Round Worm (since Shark (13-329) tested positive).
We had to go back to the vet on Nov. 29, since Sebo needed to have another microchip implanted. His first one popped out. But he is all set now.
Sebo is still a little uncomfortable riding in his carrier in the car (he and Shark (14-229) are still in the same crate) and will cry and whine at the start of every trip. Yesterday he was especially upset since he had a solo trip back to the vet while Shark stayed at home with Grand Foster Mom. He does eventually settle down if Shark is with him.
Thanksgiving was a HUGE new experience for Sebo. He journeyed to his Foster Uncle's house where he met another big dog and met 20+ adults and 10+ kids. All of the kids wanted a chance to hold Sebo - since he is a bit smaller and when he is unsure of things - likes to be held. He did a great job in this strange environment.
Sebo is very cautious and gets a little dramatic in new situations. He can be very vocal and will whine a bit to let you know he is experiencing some discomfort. I have taken to calling him "Emo" since he can get a little anxious and take some time to settle down. Sometimes when he cries - he just likes to be picked up and rocked for a bit.
In addition to the resident golden, we have a few other big dogs visiting for the holiday weekend. And Sebo likes to chase them and will go into play stance and bark at the big dogs to engage them. He is very busy in the yard (but will not wander to far from people) and loves to find sticks and then get Shark (14-229) to chase him.
Sebo is eating very well and continues to grow like a weed. It is crazy how much bigger he has gotten in just one week. He sometimes cries to eat and then sits next to his dish and whines (who knows what the problem is) - but if you take a few pieces of food out of the dish and put them on the floor - he thinks this is a fun game and will then attack the food in the dish.
He will cry/whine when he is in his crate or in the play yard to go outside and will do his business right away. Sebo sometimes wakes up in the night to go to the bathroom - and then wants a drink of water before he will settle back down and go back to sleep.
I found that putting a few large, stuffed dog toys in his crate helps him to cuddle up and calm himself to sleep. He also likes it if you sing to him and he will whimper a bit when falling back to sleep. Very in touch with his emotions . . .
These silly, cuddly boys love to give kisses and to be held for short periods of time - but prefer to curl up with each other in their play yard at nap time. Sebo does like to know where his people are and will pay close attention if you come and go from the room.
Sebo loves to play in the snow. But gets cold quickly and will come and sit between your feet waiting to be picked up and carried inside.
Enjoy these pictures - he has some interesting markings.
