Dear RAGOM,

I wanted to let you know that this morning our dearest Sophie passed away. We are so grateful that RAGOM brought us together with Sophie. She was loved by all who met her. She will be missed. Thanks for giving us the wonderful memories.

Sophie has had an interesting week. On the up side, her foster mom was sick all week, which meant she was home hanging out with the dogs. On the down side, her foster mom didn't make it off the couch very often to play fetch .... despite Sophie's many nudges and ball drops. For the most part, the week was spent with a very soft Sophie snuggling with foster mom on the couch, and a few car trips and walking adventures.

Sophie has been known to chew when she's bored, but since she hasn't chewed anything at my house, I think she just needs to be provided with routine exercise, and some interesting chew toys. She has a good amount of energy, and pulls a bit on leash, but is very responsive to sit, lay down, come, etc ... She loves to play fetch, and likes to carry around her stuffed teddy, or squeaky squirrel, or one of her bones. When its time to eat, she dances and prances and stands up tall - and eats as fast as she possibly can. Where there is activity, Sophie wants to be involved, and her whole body wiggles with excitement at times. She is a little afraid of cats, but thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs, kids, and grown ups. If there isn't any activity, she rests her head on your leg for attention, or nudges your hand.

Sophie is recovering from a UTI, and had a small Mast Cell Tumor removed this morning. We are crossing our fingers that the tumor is a grade 1, and that she will recover with little fear of recurrence.

Sophie looks and feels like a super soft cotton ball .... and is a happy go lucky girl. She rarely barks, and although a strange sound may initially surprise her, curiosity seems to always help her overcome any fear. Sophie recently hung out with a family with young children. Being a helpful girl, she located a multitude of small plastic toys scattered under chairs and other odd locations throughout the house, happily dropping each one when asked - I had no idea she was such a good housekeeper!

Sophie is a happy girl, and any family would be lucky to call themselves hers. She has bonded to me quickly, and I feel honored to help her mend and help her find her forever home.
