Surri is a gorgeous black GR/flat coated retriever mix that was found as a stray. She is ~1-2 years old, current on all vaccinations and in perfect health. Surri will go to the vet this week to be spayed and then will be ready to find her forever family.

It’s difficult to photograph a black dog and her pictures don’t do her justice. She is wonderful with young children (4 & 7yrs), playful, very gentle taking treats, walks perfectly on a leash, and great in a car. She slept through the night in our bedroom floor without making a sound, and we are working on potty training.

Surri still has a puppy personality and tries to play with our resident GR Mia, but Mia feels the need to let her know who is boss….little stinker. Surri doesn’t care though; she just keeps trying to play! Yesterday she played with a male lab/rott mix and they had a blast – he did not feel the need to let her know who is boss :)

Surri loves running in the fenced yard, but I think she would prefer to hang with people. She is very affectionate and a great listener. We are already working on sit, stay and she is very responsive. She rears up and can stand on her hind legs when she wants to play……very cute!!

I can’t say enough nice things about her! She has already worked her way into my heart so you should check her out soon before I grab her!

Surri has been with us for a week and is an absolutely amazing dog! While she is full grown, she is relatively small weighing 48lbs. She is has all the wonderful puppy qualities without any of the bad habits. She loves playing with toys, kids….anyone that will play with her :) She is totally potty trained, doesn’t chew on anything other than her toys, hardly barks…..and I haven’t even seen her dig yet!

As she has become more comfortable in our home, Surri pulls more when we walk so I started her in a Gentle Leader this week. She is also an alpha female. Surri and Mia had to work out who is boss this week, and now that it has been settled, they sleep by each other and play together with toys. She is such an affectionate and beautiful dog! Surri will be spayed this Wednesday and then will be ready for her forever family.

Between her beautiful black coat and constant wiggling bum, I can’t get a picture that captures her beauty or personality!
