Finley here, to tell you that I'm digging this new Golden life!
I'm going for walks every day now with my foster sister right by my side. I'm learning there are lots of neat things to see and sniff on our daily walks. I'm walking with a Gentle Leader and I'm doing very well with it. I'm holding my tail and my head up high now, too!
I went to the veterinarian this weekend and got another shot, but I didn't flinch at all. I took in all the pets the vet tech was willing to give me. I'm all caught up on my vaccinations now, so I can be adopted soon.
I'm learning new commands like sit, down, off and leave it. I'm catching on really quickly and finding out all the tasty training treats are worth it.
I am jumping up into and jumping down out of a vehicle all on my own now. I have mastered how to go up and down stairs, too.
I have gotten used to hearing the noisy lawn mower outside, but some of the sudden noises inside my home still startle me just a little bit, like cupboard doors shutting. I look to my foster sister for guidance to see how she reacts when she hears the noises.
I'm hopeful that this weekend I will be going to meet a kitty cat for the very first time.
Please stay tuned for more adventures from Finley...

Finley is a soft, sweet and cuddly light colored Golden Retriever who is learning what life outside a cage is like. He is beginning to enjoy playing with toys, loves to run and roll in the grass and thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs.
He gets along well with all dogs, including dogs smaller or larger than he is. He enjoys playing, running and wrestling with any dog he meets.
Finley is neutered and heartworm negative. He came into foster care with roundworms, so we are currently working on getting rid of them. Potty training is still a work in progress, but he has only had one accident in my home since entering foster care. Finley is crate trained and sleeps all through the night in his crate.
He is a very brave boy who has not lived in a home environment before, so many noises are new to him. He is scared of thresholds and will only cross one for the first time if he is following another confident dog. He is also learning how to go up and down stairs.
Finley is still recovering from his neuter surgery and needs a booster shot later this month, so he will not be available for adoption for approximately two more weeks.
Since Finley is from a breeding facility, he will need a home with another large, confident dog and a yard with a fence. This little guy's sweet personality has begun to blossom in the weeks he has been in foster care and he will require love and patience from his future family so he can continue to become more confident.
