Zoey is a 10 year old (slightly chubby) sweet gilr who came to RAGOM along with her brother Lobo (15-320). Although they had been beloved pets all of their lives, their owner could no longer care for them.
Zoey weighs about 77 pounds. Rumor has it that she liked to leave her dinner partially eaten, help herself to some of Lobo's and then finish hers. I feed them in different rooms so that her snacking is at an end. She should lose about 10-15 pounds. It appears that Zoey needs to be spayed and she has a mammary lump that will need to be removed at the same time, so she has some vet time ahead of her. Other than having slightly dirty ears, she has no other medical issues and is not on any medication.
She is an expert at the Golden nose bump and uses it especially if Lobo is getting attention and she isn't! She has had free roam at my house and has been a perfect lady. Se can't jump on the bed because of her pudgey body and has slept on the floor or dog bed. Like most seniors she loves to nap..(Zoey is the on the dog bed in the napping picture.)
Since he and Zoey are a bonded pair, I hope to place them in the same forever home.

Zoey has a new friend named Herky 15-285. He came to our house a week ago and she is gradually warming up to the idea of playing with him. At first she just wanted him to know that she was in charge, so she slept on the bed that he brought with him for a few nights. (He got to sleep on my bed, so he was OK with that).
Next she started taking a great interest in toys (which she had not cared about before) and sneaked a couple away from him. As you can see from this picture, she has gotten brazen enough to steal his chewie and enjoy it right in front of him!
We try to take daily walks to help Zoey lose a few pounds. We are quite a sight with long legged, athletic Herky in the front, me in the middle and sweet, short sauntering Zoey in the rear. Sometimes she is inspired to trot up next to Herky and try to give him a kiss, but she slows down pretty quickly. So far so good, she has lost two pounds!

Zoey has been doing well. She managed to boost herself on to my bed with lots of back leg pushing. She has only done it once, but now she knows it is possible.
She is scheduled for spaying on Monday 1/4 when she will also have a mass in one of her mamararies removed.
The sad news for Zoey is that her very sweet brother Lobo crossed the rainbow bridge today. (check Lobo's page for details). She has lived with him her whole life, so it will be a big change for her.
I want to thank Denver and his parents for the generous gifts in honor of Zoey and Lobo.
Zoey and I will miss our sweet Lobo.
