Lucy 16-127

Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Date Posted Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
7/13/2016  Preferred Ages 8+ Optional Not tested
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Lucy is a 2-year-old purebred English Cream Golden. She is not spayed, but has her surgery scheduled for the week of July 25th. She is up to date on vaccines and microchipped, and weighs 56 pounds.

Lucy went to the vet yesterday and has infections in both ears. She also has a huge amount of hair loss and extremely dry skin. The vet tested her thyroid, and the results were normal. She is currently on a grain-free food and fish oil pills to help with her skin and coat. She also needs to bathe regularly with and oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. It’s going to take some time for her coat to get to where it should be.

She is an incredibly sweet girl, and she loves to run and play just as any young Golden would. Everyone she meets is a new potential best friend - she loves them young and old - and she loves to play with all dogs. She does pull a bit on her leash when out on a walk, but a no-pull harness has helped. She enjoys free roam during the day when she is home alone with her fur sister and never gets into any mischief.

Lucy has been with us just a few days and loves everybody in the neighborhood. I’m not sure she needs a fenced-in yard because she just wants to be near you. She comes to you when you call her, and she knows "sit" and "down." She has one bad habit: she jumps on people to greet them. We’ve already started working on that, and she’s starting to get the idea if she stays on the ground, she’ll get the attention she wants.

Lucy will be cat-tested in the next few days. So, hold on for the next update to see how she did.

Lucy will be at a RAGOM meet-and-geet this Saturday, July 16th, at Leashes & Leads in Byron, MN. Come on out and see this girl!

Updates

Friday, July 29, 2016

Hi, folks. It's me: Lucy! I’ve been really busy since I’ve come into foster care. I went to my very first meet-and-greet where I got tons of treats and hugs and met new fur friends.

I was exhausted after that.

Then I went on a new adventure – The Lake. I just love pontoon rides, but didn’t care much about swimming. I did like standing in the water to cool off. I found out that rainy weekends aren’t much fun.

Eventually, the rain passed, and I got to enjoy the nice weather.

OK, now I’ll turn the computer over to Foster Mom. Take it away, Foster Mom…

Lucy has been doing great. She is being groomed almost daily, and her coat looks a lot better. She had a spa day and didn’t mind having her nails trimmed and really enjoyed having a bath.

Lucy is on a grain-free diet and takes fish oil to help improve her coat. She doesn’t like taking pills, so we get a little creative when she needs to take her medications.

Lucy had her spay surgery on Tuesday and had a little trouble with the anesthesia, but is doing great now. She’s spending most of her time just relaxing and sleeping. She is starting to play with her fur sister, so I guess I can say she is recovering on her own terms.

Lucy has her paws crossed, hoping to meet her new family soon. She can’t wait to have her very own family.
