Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Date Posted Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
6/5/2016  Preferred  Age 8+ Optional  Not tested
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Please welcome Kathy to RAGOM.  Not much is known about this sweetheart:  She was found as a stray in ND covered in ticks and with serious wounds to her legs and neck.  A Good Samaritan took her in, brought her to the vet where it was determined that the wounds were most likely bite wounds.

While Miss K-as we affectionately call her- might not look like a Golden Retriever- she looks like a Lab/Husky mix- she definitely has a Golden personality.  She loves her people, dogs and always wants to be close to them.  She is about 1 year old, weighs 25 lbs and is current on her vaccinations.  Her bite wounds are healing nicely and don't seem to bother her. She will be ready for adoption after her spay surgery.

Although little Miss K had a rough start in her life she is a very happy, social dog who will make somebody very happy. If you think Kathy is the one to complete your family, please contact your placement advisor.

Kathy, now Kamri, was adopted today and she might not even know it yet, but she truly hit the jackpot.  Her new mom, dad, grandma as well as brother and sister will make sure she gets plenty of love.  In addition, Kamri will have a large yard to run and several dogs in the neighborhood to come over for play dates.

Congratulations Kamri and the B family!

Kathy has been with us for 3 months now and she continues to settle in nicely.  She  loves playing with her foster siblings Ruby and Cody and would do fine with another older, calmer dog, but she would also be great as an only dog as long as she would get plenty of exercise.

She loves to be close to her human family- she would sleep in the kitchen next to where I cook, or she would snuggle up on the couch and watch TV. She is doing much better at not jumping on people, but we are still working on walking nicely on a leash.

Here is Kathy snuggling with foster dad and relaxing with foster brother Cody after a round of playing.

Kathy here!

It's been really busy here the last few weeks: After I had settled in nicely into my new family I had "the procedure" done. I still don't know why I wasn't allowed to run and play with my foster siblings, but foster mom insisted I rest in my crate until I am fully healed.  Thankfully that's all behind me now!  My favorite thing to do - besides eating and napping - is to run and play outside with my awesome foster siblings Ruby and Cody.  They were both RAGOM dogs and I am learning a lot from them.  Together we love to explore the backyard, but our favorite thing is to plan attacks on the bunnies living under the shed, and chase squirrels and birds.

Another thing I love to do is go on walks.  I love my walks so much, that I don't even mind the gentle leader, although I personally prefer the harness.

I know I am not perfect so I am working on my manners:  I am good at "sit" and "stay", but I need to work on not jumping on people and not talking so much.

If you want a buddy, look no further!  I will always be right by your side like a little "shadow"!

Miss K has been with us for almost 3 weeks and during this time we got to know her better. Kathy is a very active little girl who loves to play with her foster siblings.  However, we think she would also do great as an only dog as long as she gets plenty of exercise.  When not running or playing, she is just as happy resting next to her humans. She walks well with a harness but zig zags sometimes, especially if her two foster siblings are also walking and she wants to be close to both of them.  Kathy loves to run and would do great in an agility class.  Miss K will have her spay surgery next week and will be ready for adoption after that.

Who can resist that smile?
