Maggie continues to thrive in her foster home, getting more and more comfortable each week. She greets us at the door every day and can’t wait for her walk. She went from sleeping downstairs by the door to sleeping at the foot of our bed. She just loves to be around people.
She gets along great with our resident Golden and would do well in a home with or without another dog. She doesn't have any resource guarding issues. She likes to bark to let you know what she is thinking or wanting and will bark at dogs who dare to walk in front of our house.
Maggie doesn't have any major health issues. She is a little arthritic in the back legs but it doesn't slow her down a bit - she still likes to run! You would never know she is 12 years old.
Maggie will make a great companion for someone who wants a smart and loving dog.

Maggie here!
Well, it’s been an exciting few weeks. My humans took me up to a place called “the cabin”. It’s a house with a huge water dish surrounding it! My new fur friend Cooper likes to swim in it but I just like to wade in it and drink when I’m thirsty. We went on something called a boat, and that was really fun, too. They also have a whole bunch of squirrels and chipmunks that I got to chase, and boy was that fun! I love just sitting on the deck and watching all the activities that go on.
I also met some other humans that were thinking of adopting me (whatever that means!), but I pull a little bit on the leash when I walk and they didn’t like that too much. Oh well, I’m having so much fun with my new human friends and my pal Cooper that I didn’t really care.
I also figured out that beds and couches are great places to sleep so whenever no one’s looking I like to jump on one of those and catch a few winks.
Well, that’s all for now.

Maggie continues to look forward to her daily walks and always lets us know if we are a little late getting her out. She can be quite vocal when she wants to let us know something. Her cute Golden personality continues to come out - she now jumps up on our bed in the morning and sleeps there a good part of the day. She loves peanut butter and tummy rubs. She is very curious about new things and will sit and watch a boat or a loon until it has moved away. She is very friendly towards people and other dogs but she isn't the type of dog who needs to be around another dog. She mostly ignores the other Golden in the house.
