In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Date Posted Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
3/21/16 Physical fence required  Yes Optional (older dogs preferred)  Yes
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Meet Fuzzy, an honorary Golden, who came to us as a stray. She is a beautiful Chocolate Lab with that blocky Lab head and shiny coat. Her eyes are stunning. Fuzzy is approximately 10 years old, is up-to-date on all shots and will be spayed within the next two weeks.

She is a sweetheart!!! She wags her tail all the time and has settled into our home nicely. She is adjusting to the wood and tile floors, as those seem new to her. She is partial to carpeting. :) Fuzzy does have some arthritis in her elbows and left hip, so stairs are hard for her. She is starting on a great senior diet and an anti-inflammatory, so that helps! She should lose just a few pounds and that will make her feel better, too. She is wonderful with our resident RAGOM dog, Griffin. She follows him around the yard and in and out the door. We have not heard her bark yet, but she is very curious about what is going on outside the fence.

Fuzzy would do well in her forever home with another dog, maybe not a puppy or young dog as she doesn't move too fast. She has not been tested with small children or cats, but loves all the adult people in her new home. She loves to sun herself outside and can make it around a short block. She will need an orthopedic bed as she loves them.

Fuzzy has a dog walker, so the most she will be left alone is about 4 hours. We have not tested being away for longer than that.

Anyone would be so very lucky to have the beautiful, sweet girl. She will be ready to meet people and give them kisses after she is spayed.

Fuzzy is a love and doing great! Not much new to report. The limping on the right front leg comes and goes and will be something she lives with. The anti-inflammatory med does the trick to keep her comfortable, as does the fish oil and anti-pain med at bedtime.

Since Fuzzy can't walk far, her forever home should have a fenced yard as she loves to lounge in the shade. She heads to the basement when she knows a thunderstorm is coming. She seems to prefer that to being in bed with us and Griffin. He tends to hog the bed with his head buried under the pillows. Fuzzy is not an active dog. When I say she's mellow, she's really mellow.

We have a new dog walker who is also a massage therapist, so Fuzzy and Griffin have been getting hip massages after their walks! She would do best in a home with an older dog and/or someone who is home most of the day.

Fuzzy is having a great Fourth of July on the North Shore! She loved the car ride up. She was perfect in the car. She has been swimming and loving the scenery. Lots of walks in the cool air. Sleeping like a baby!!

We learned at an outing in Grand Marais that she does not like small dogs.

She and Griffin are always checking to make sure Foster Mom was not far away.

All is great in Fuzzy-land!

Fuzzy had good results from her blood work tests and she can stay on the anti-inflamatory medication. We have also started adding 1000 mg/day of fish oil to her food. She gobbles the pill up. She is on a great senior food that also helps with her joints.

The beautiful girl is still shedding her coat, so we brush her almost every day. A lot of the hair is gray, so we are helping her get rid of it. :) Who wants gray hair, right!

We are exploring additional resources to help her with her thunderstorm anxiety. The Thundershirt and natural calming meds didn't make a dent for her Sunday evening, she trembled and panted for over two hours. I spoke with a vet tech, and she made a few more suggestions for natural remedies that I will discuss with her vet today or tomorrow. If they don't work, we will consider a prescription for something stronger. It is definitely the lightning that upsets her. We did spend some time huddled in the bathroom, and that seemed to help her. She will need a lot of attention and help regarding this in her forever home.

Fuzzy continues to do well on her walks and loves lounging in the shade in the backyard. She is still not a fan of hot weather, so we keep her cool.

She continues to be the sweetest girl in the world. She even does the Golden lean-in when we pet her - so cute!

Fuzzy is loving the long, lazy memorial weekend. :)

She visited the vet yesterday for routine blood work to make sure that the anti-inflamatory med is not impacting her liver. We will have the results on Tuesday. Her heart rate and lungs were perfect, and she has dropped to a svelte weight of 65 pounds. She does not need to lose any more weight! The vet also checked her right front leg, as she has been limping on and off now for a week or so. He said that it is due to her arthritis and the best thing for her to stay strong is to continue her short walks twice daily. Some days, she can go a little further, but only when it is not too hot.

The thunderstorm this week was hard on her. She trembled like a leaf and panted until the natural calming meds kicked in. I thing it was the electricity she could feel from the lightning that bothered her, as it didn't thunder too much. We had a slumber party in the bed with resident dog Griffin, too.

Fuzzy has a fan club of all the little kids in the neighborhood. They run to pet both her and Griffin on our evening walks. She just stands there calmly and lets them pet away.

Fuzzy blew her coat this week. We brushed her with the Furminator, and she didn't make a peep. You wouldn't have believed all the hair! Hoping this makes her feel cooler for the summer.

Fuzzy is a sweet soul, calm and loving, and those eyes... All who meet her fall in love with her. You would, too!

Hello, Fuzzy fans!

Fuzzy went to the "beauty parlor" today and wanted to show off her sweet-smelling self. She was perfect at the appointment, but just had trouble standing for a long period of time, so the groomer let her lay down often.

Fuzzy is doing great!!!

Since we last updated you, she is now up to date on all of her shots. She continues to take her arthritis medication, and we have seen a great improvement in her mobility. She now runs up and down the stairs! We even caught her snoozing on our bed - we didn't think she could get up there on her own. She still needs help getting into the car, but jumps out with no problem. Fuzzy is able to make it about 4-6 long blocks on her walks each day. She only tires a little bit, and last weekend when it was hot, she slowed down considerably.

Fuzzy had been spayed, tested just fine with cats, and is very gentle with children. She loves our resident Golden, Griffin.

She would do best in a home as the only dog or with one other dog. She does not play with our Golden, so it might be best to have a dog that is a little older. When she is not being our shadow, she loves napping on her orthopedic beds. We have them strategically placed throughout the house. :)

Fuzzy is very, very sweet and extremely mellow. We do see the "circle tail" when it's time to eat, go on a walk, or when we come home from work. She has a dog walker at lunchtime, so she is not alone for more than 4 hours at a time.

We love this girl and know you will, too!!
