Welcome Sadie to RAGOMLAND.  Sadie is a red coated 8 year old by estimate of the vet at her wellness exam.  She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and is heartworm and fecal negative.  She currently weights 62 lbs. and slightly thin so we are giving her 1 1/2 cups in the morning and 1 cup in the evening of Fromms fish and potato.  She only needs to gain about 5 lbs. to be at her ideal weight.

Sadie has a calm demeanor and has only barked when I come home from errands.  Since the whole pack is being vocal she must think that is the thing to do.  I suspect if it weren't for my crew she would rarely bark at all.  When Sadie arrived she met the crazy crew with perfect manners and has had no issues acclimating to the house routines.  She is polite with her food dish and taking treats with a gentle mouth.  She is not curious about any bodies bowl but her own and I have not even heard so much as a growl if someone else checks out her bowl or space.

Sadie has not shown a signal to go outside as my dogs go out about every 5 hours(I am retired) or one of the other dogs indicates they want out.  I have a cedar fence and Sadie roams the entire fenced in area while outside I suspect looking for rabbits.  It is possible she might travel outside her own yard so due diligence will be necessary if she is alone and not on a tie out.

One of the best things about adopting a senior is they adjust to your home and routines very quickly.  So if you think Sadie will be a great fit for your family let your placement advisor know .

Our dear sweet Sadie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 29, 2018.  We are unsure of her real age but thought to be 11-12 years old.  Sadie was with us just over 2 years and was just the most beautiful and loving Golden.  She had an old soul and was a true healer companion.  She loved to go on walks and lay in the sun.  She enjoyed playing with her toys and getting pets.  We miss her so very much.

My senior golden rescue, my sweet Sadie girl. I knew you were getting older and knew you were slowing down. What I didn’t know when we received the news about you being sick, just how bad it was and how things would progress so quick. My heart is broken and empty and my eyes are filled with tears. I am so thankful today for our wonderful few years. I find my peace in knowing that we found one another. I got to rescue and love you and give you your forever home, one which you didn’t have or one you had ever known. My sweet Sadie girl, beautiful, loyal, devoted, a heart of gold, an old soul and a healer to so many. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than making the last years of your life the best that they could be. You may have left our lives today but you will never leave my heart.

Sweet Sadie
