Rosie, now known as Zoey, has been adopted by Deb and Kendal!! She is starting to bear weight on her affected leg and is able to go for walks. She has been spayed and is recovering nicely. Still has some skin issues, but is improving. Guessing in 6 months, we'll see a completely different dog - she will have gained weight and have a full coat. She will now be the official greeter when people come to Deb for a massage! Zoey is a lucky girl to find such a wonderful family, and Deb and Kendal are so lucky to have found such a sweet little girl.

Rosie left today for her next foster family and it was a very emotional goodbye for this foster mom. I fell in love with her from the minute I saw her in that pen at the rescue and am so thankful I had the privilege to love her to pieces for the past two weeks.
She is recovering beautifully from her hip surgery on Monday and tolerated the road trip to Iowa just fine. I talked to her new foster mom tonight and she was getting a tour of her new house, had met the resident dogs and sweet neighbor girls. Her tail was wagging the whole time. Good Girl, Rosie!
Rehab for her hip, weight gain, and her spay are the next order of business for her. Soon, she will have her very own forever family.
Rosie had a very rough start in life. She has hopped on 3 legs for a very long time and lacked basic care, but that didn't stop her gentle spirit, fun personality, and zest for life. Thank you, Sweet Rosie, for the life lessons. I will love you forever!
The first day I arrived at the rescue, a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky. I now know this was Rosie's Rescue Rainbow.
