Lilly is a female labradoodle that is approximately 17 months old and full of energy. She was sadly surrendered by someone that could no longer afford her care and maintenance. She currently weighs 77 pounds, but her veterinarian would like for her to shed just a few pounds. She is house trained, crate trained, sheds very little, is up to date on shots and preventatives plus is heartworm negative. She is not spayed, but she will be having that surgery very soon. She also has an inguinal hernia that will be getting repaired at the same time.

Lilly loves to play fetch! Her energy level is high so a good game of fetch or a long walk needs to take place daily to burn off some of that energy. She is a very happy dog that loves affection and enjoys being wherever you are. Lilly does have a high prey drive for small animals including rabbits, squirrels and some small dogs. She plays very well with most dogs and enjoys their company. She does not do well with cats. She takes treats very nicely and is quick with learning new commands.

Lilly will not be available until after her surgery has been completed.

Updates

Hello!

I wanted to update everyone that I have had my sutures from my surgeries removed and I am ready for adoption now. The vet said I was such a good dog to just lay on the table while she snipped the sutures. I got two treats from her for behaving so well. I sure enjoy my visits with the vet.

I heard plenty of pops, cracks and noises last night in my neighborhood, but I didn't get bothered by all the racket. I had more fun paying attention to where my ball landed after being tossed by my FM, returning it to her and then dropping it in her lap so she would throw it again. I have her trained really well to keep throwing the ball for me to fetch.

I have been playing with my neighbors, a yorkie, a boston terrier and a daschund, lately. FM says that I have really improved in how I act around small dogs since when I first arrived in her home.

FM says I am getting better with all the basic commands (sit, come and down), but I still am a work in progress to jump up into a vehicle. I love to go for rides once I am in the vehicle though. I stick my head out the window and try to catch all the wonderful scents drifting by.

I get to go visit my groomer again soon. While I am really cute already, FM says I will look adorable after I get my fur trimmed.

FM bought me some pupcorn at the Farmer's Market from a place called Woofables and boy is it delicious! When I "sit pretty" for her, she gives me some as a treat.

Lilly has had a busy week. We had a furry friend visiting our home all week long. Lilly played very well with him and shared toys with no guarding issues at all. The picture shows them enjoying frozen paw treats together after playing outside in the warm sunshine.

Lilly has had her inguinal hernia repair and spay surgery. She is recovering well and will be available for adoption after her sutures get removed on July 2nd. Lilly weighs 70.2 pounds and the vet is very happy with her progress at losing weight and wants her to just maintain at this weight now.

I have discovered that she really enjoys being in the water! Fetching sticks, walking along the beach and attempting to swim are all enjoyable activities for Lilly and her tail never stops wagging while we are at the lake. I have found that Lilly has difficulty jumping into a vehicle, but once in the vehicle she enjoys the ride. I am working on teaching her to jump into a vehicle on her own.

Lilly is getting to be a sweet cuddle bug and lays her head on my lap when she wants some attention. She has the prettiest big, brown eyes.

I have observed that Lilly 15-090 is very calm during thunderstorms and around loud noises. The neighborhood has had numerous motorcycles driving past now that the weather is nicer and the noise does not bother her at all.

Lilly 15-090 has enjoyed a play date with a female yellow labrador that is about the same age as herself. They played together extremely well and seem to do a good job of burning off some energy together. She looks so cute when she boing, boing, boings around the yard reminding me of Tigger in the Winnie the Pooh series. A family with someone that would take her on runs with them to burn off some of her energy would be a good fit for her.

Lilly 15-090 does have a high energy level and sometimes she is just so excited to have a visitor come to the house that she just can't contain that energy. Due to her size, this could be a concern if small children are in the home as she could possibly knock them down. We are working on Lilly 15-090 finding her place prior to the door being opened for visitors rather than her jumping up on them with excitement.

Lilly 15-090 has made great progress on losing weight and is down to 73.6 pounds now. Her vet is very happy with this, but still wants her to get down to around 70 pounds. We have been taking walks on a regular basis and she is getting much better with a leash and a Gentle Leader, but she still pulls on occasion and we are working on that issue. Bunnies and squirrels are in abundance this time of year and the urge to chase them causes her to pull on the leash.

We have a golden retriever that FM takes care of while the family goes on vacation coming to stay with us for a short time so Lilly 15-090 will have someone to play with every day, but after that visitor goes back home Lilly 15-090 will be getting her inguinal hernia and spay surgery scheduled.
