Meet Dakota, a 9 1/2 year old female PB. She is up to date on vaccines, is heart worm negative, is microchipped, and is on heartworm and flea and tick preventives. She is 72 pounds which is over weight by 12 pounds. She needs to go back to the vet because of a liver test she had that showed a possible problem. One more test and we should know more. She was placed on pain meds for her hips.

One other problem she has is she was surrendered due to she on 2 occasions got out of her fenced yard and went after the neighbors dog. I know the dog was taken to the vet but I do not know if the other dog was hurt. I have had her around 2 dogs and she was growling, hair standing up on her back and with one dog she was starting to show her teeth when I moved her away. She must be the only dog and at this point can not be off a leash because she might attack if she sees another dog. I am going to be working with her on this.

Now the good. She was been with one family who loved her very much. She was loved and her owners wanted her to have her bed, blanket and her toys. She is a Velcro dog and loves people. She has been with kids as young as 4 and is great. She sleeps in bed with me or next to the bed. Loves to be brushed, walks very well on a leash. Loves car rides and has no problem with baby gates and has full roam of the house with no problems. I have an auto repair shop and she comes to work everyday with me. In fact she is waiting in the mornings buy the door waiting to go. She will not dart out the door at work, loves to lay and watch out the windows, and if I am in the shop and customers are waiting she will go lay by them. My customers love her. Very sweet and loveable.

It has been a couple of months with this great dog. She has been working hard training me the way she wants me to be. She is very afraid of storms, so she gets me out of bed and I get her "thunder shirt" on her and get my pillow and we go sleep in my closet. I think because she can't see the lightning that way. We have had many vet visits as we have had some medical issues.

Her and I have bonded and have gotten very close. I think after 9 plus years with a family that loved her and then having her life turned around with a move into foster care has left her scared. She is always by my side. In the morning when it is time to go to work she is waiting by the back door for me. She is in the best place any Golden can be with RAGOM, and after fostering 5 dogs I have decided to adopt this girl.

I thank everyone who may have considered her, and thank you to all the great people and friends at RAGOM who work so hard to give these dogs all they deserve. Dakota will live out The Golden Life filled with toys, treats, all the medical she needs and lots of love.
