This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Brutus and Benji are a beautiful bonded pair of Pure Bred Goldens.  They are littermates, are 7.5 years old and will be 8 in June. They have been together all of their lives with the same loving owner and they need to stay together as they are best friends. They were surrendered to RAGOM because their owner relocated and was unable to bring them with.  They are extremely well socialized, very friendly, happy, housetrained, affectionate, and have free roam with no destructive behaviors. Brutus loves to carry around stuffed animals and occasionally may amputate a limb or head. He may carry socks and shoes around if he can’t find a toy but he does not chew on anything besides his toys and he easily gives anything back to you. Brutus especially loves to hang out outside and just look around. He does not seem to mind the cold at all!

Both boys rode great in the car on our drive here and met our 2 resident dogs with ease and friendliness.  They became adjusted here immediately and set about to feel at home. This just attests to their stable and loving upbringing. They seem quite secure. Both boys are good at coming when they are called. They know sit, shake and lie down but do not necessarily think these are important qualities and comply only when they want to.  They are eager to please however and I think they would appreciate training in this area.

They are both overweight. We have not been to the vet yet but do not believe there are any health issues with Brutus other than his weight that I estimate to be 115 lbs. He is a tall guy and I think his ideal weight may be about 85 lbs. A horse stepped on him when he was a puppy and had a broken leg and shoulder. The shoulder has a pin in it and the leg healed fine, just a little crooked. These do not seem to bother him at all. Brutus loves to be outside and really enjoys looking out over the deck. Squirrels do seem to interest him and he did chase one down the yard. A dog show was on TV the other night and Brutus was excited and did a little happy dance and a few barks. It was very cute! Brutus has no trouble with stairs or getting into the car. He is playful with Benji outside but inside he likes to find a place where he can preferably see out and rests nicely, unless of course there are any hands in the room that could be petting him instead of whatever else they are doing! He is excited to see any new people who come into the house but does not jump up. Brutus likes to explore but is not a runner and I don’t think they would need a physical fence. They lived on a farm for many years and had free run outside. They loved the cats on the farm and they grew up with children.  These guys are very gentle, they just want lots of attention and to hang out outside.  Their owner said they were seldom on a leash, as they do not run away. I did take them for a leashed walk and they were great, they loved the walk and did not pull much. I have not seen any behavior problems at all with them. They are absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for 2 stunningly beautiful Goldens with great personalities and loving easy natures and are willing to help them slim down, these may be the guys for you!

The dynamic duo of Brutus and Benji have been with us for 1 month now. We absolutely love them!

They are super easy guys who just chill out while in the house and love to be outside whenever they can. We went back to the vet today for a booster shot and the vet checked them out again. They are doing great, heart and lungs sounds fantastic, teeth and eyes are good.

But the best news is that Brutus has lost 5 pounds in just 3 weeks! He now weighs 106. We are feeding them 1.5 cups of healthy food twice a day. They were free fed in the past so this is really helping. They also like some frozen green beans mixed in their food, yum yum! They are both the least food motivated goldens that I have ever met. Brutus doesn't always finish his food and they do not beg for treats.

There was a cat hanging out at the vet and Brutus just had to go make a friend. The obviously dog friendly cat wanted to play and Brutus really liked that! He also really likes the vet and is super cooperative!

Our granddaughters came for the weekend, age 7 and 4, and the boys were fantastic with them. They are not lickers but they were happy with little girl hugs! What we want for them in a forever home is a very loving family who will enjoy their easy going personalities. We also want them to be able to be outside often as they love the fresh air and a deck to claim their own! They are totally housebroken and are completely non destructive. If you think these guys may be right for you we would love to tell you more! Enjoy the new pics of them.

Please notice the beautiful long flowing chest hair on Brutus. He is such a beautiful guy! Also notice the photobomb by Decoy in the pic of both guys!

Hi everyone, foster mom here. I just want to brag how wonderful the dynamic duo of Brutus and Benji are. If you are looking for easy guys who will love you more than you can imagine, these are your guys. I want to tell you something we have discovered about Brutus. He is a talker! He has his own language, not barking or growling but a kind of throaty rr-ing. He talks when he wants to go out or just when he wants to tell you something.

He also watches TV! But, he is picky, he likes animal shows and gets quite excited when he sees an animal, especially a dog or cat. He hasn't gotten into HGTV yet. Brutus really loves to be outside. He carries his stuffed animals all around the yard.

Oh, and he loves walks! These 2 guys are extremely lovable, gorgeous and personality plus!

Hello all, Brutus here! Hey, take a look at the new pics that foster mom (FM) is posting today! I am absolutely adorable! Benji and I went for a vet check today and I really liked Dr Joe. He had some super nice helpers there too and I think I have a crush on one of them. I was super good cause they pet me a lot and I like that! I had lots of checking up on. Most things turned out great but one thing didn't. I must have been bit by a tick at some time cause I have a slight elevation in my blood with something called anaplasmosis. I don't have any symptoms of having this problem but Dr Joe thought I should take some medicine for a few weeks so no problem. I get extra peanut butter that way! I am a bit overweight but nothing like my brother (hehe). I weigh 111 lbs so I will work on shedding a few. Oh and my ears had a little bit of brown crud so they cleaned them and they look much better now.

We met some new people at home today including a darling little girl and a couple men working on a project. They were all really cool.

So Benji and I are looking for a forever family. Could you be the ones who hit the jackpot and get to take us home? We are kinda picky cause we want a family that is really nice and lets us love them up. We are super easy to have around, are really good looking and like other animals and all kids. You must be willing to adore us!
