Caddy (Boss 14-363)

Profile

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:
Entered Foster Care Fence Kid Friendly Another Dog Cat Friendly
11/30/2014  Not required Teenagers or older Optional Yes
This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Boss 14-363 has now been in our home for three days. As you can see, he is one beautiful dog. He is only about 1.5 years old.

Boss is still a puppy in many ways. He has only been living in an environment with much direction from his humans for a very short time. But Boss is very smart and highly treat-motivated. That means he will be a good candidate for easy obedience training. It also means that Boss will need a savvy owner with lots of dog experience. Left to his own instincts, Boss will probably get into trouble. He has shown some resource guarding and has nipped a hand when something he wants is taken away. For these reasons, Boss won't be a good dog with small children. Teenagers will probably be OK, but they will need to be knowledgable about dog training too.

We will write more as we continue to learn more about this wonderful guy.

Updates

Saturday, January 3, 2015

It's now been almost four weeks since Boss entered our home. I really can't believe that potential adopters haven't been lined up to meet this wonderful guy. Perhaps I undersold him in previous updates.

Essentially, Boss is a great 2-year-old, handsome guy without any real serious issues.

  • Yes, he has some puppy behaviors that he needs to work on.
  • Yes, he is a bit high-energy and needs lots of exercise.
  • Yes, he has some car sickness.
  • And yes, he requires time and attention like all young dogs.

But he is as good of a 2-year-old as I've ever encountered. I'm just amazed that he is still waiting for his forever home.
