Afton 14-332 is a beautiful and very healthy 10-year-old gal with personality plus! She is a petite purebred Golden with red wavy hair, weighing in at 55 pounds. She lived her entire life with one family who lovingly cared for her. She lived with 4 children under 7 years old. The family felt that she could really use more attention and exercise than they were able to provide and tearfully surrendered her to RAGOM, knowing that she would find the perfect home that could provide her with all the love and attention that she deserves. Afton acts much more like a 6-year-old than a 10-year-old. In her furever home, she should have room to run and play. She would love another dog (or more) to play with, especially if they will actually wrestle with her. Her current foster brothers who are her age are quite boring for her. Since she had a very loving home, she is great in the house. She has no separation anxieties, gets along great with all people big and small, and is not destructive at all. When inside, she likes to chew on her toys, especially tennis balls, and she has been known to carry around socks. She doesn't chew them, however, but just carries them. She has free roam of the house and sleeps on the floor or on her fluffy bed. She has not gotten on any furniture at all. I don't think she would like to be crated and there would be no need for it. She mostly just sleeps while in the house, but she definitely does the Golden nudge to try to get you to pet her a lot! If you don't pet her, she may moan and groan until you do. She loves, loves, loves her treats and is VERY food-motivated. She does not guard her food, however, and eats in close proximity of her foster brothers. She also loves car rides and walks, and this week, her foster brother Gunnar taught her how to swim! She had little experience with a lake before, and boy, does she love it! She loves to lay in it, fetch sticks in it, boat in it, and splash in it. It has not been easy to keep her dry in the last week since we live on a lake. She would really like to be able to continue this newfound love of hers! She would also love for someone to throw tennis balls and sticks for her often. She may not give them back easily, however. She spent one night with another foster family while we were away and she charmed them also! They said she was just prefect! Don't let her age fool you! She acts much younger and wants the exercise and playtime of a younger dog. Yet in the house, she settles down beautifully and just wants to be near you or at least where she can see you. Typical Golden girl!
